Sora (Klipphausen)
Klipphausen is a municipality in the district of Meißen, in Saxony, Germany. In today's locality Röhrsdorf, Julius Adolph Stöckhardt was born, who helped to establish agricultural chemistry in Germany, initiated the establishment of agricultural experiment stations and was a pioneer of environmental research. Meißen (district)
Meissen (german: Meißen) is a district ('' Kreis'') in Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the state of Brandenburg, the district of Bautzen, the urban district Dresden, the districts Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, Mittelsachsen and Nordsachsen. History The district dates back to the ''Amt Meißen'', which was first mentioned in 1334. The district was ruled by the Wettin dynasty. The Margraves of what then became the Margravate of Meissen created the administrative division (''Amt'') in the 13th century. In 1835 the ''Amt'' was converted into an ''Amtshauptmannschaft'', with the area of the current district covered by the ''Amtshauptmannschaften'' Meissen, Dresden and Großenhain. Julius Adolph Stöckhardt
Julius Adolph Stöckhardt (4 January 1809 – 1 June 1886) was a German agricultural chemist. He is mostly recognized for his work on fertilizers, fume damage of plants and his book ''Die Schule der Chemie'' (''School of Chemistry''), which was translated into 14 languages. His 500 lectures and over 500 publications helped to establish agricultural chemistry in Germany. Life Stöckhardt was born in Röhrsdorf near Meißen on 4 January 1809 as son of a preacher. He was apprentice in a pharmacy from 1824 to 1828, studied at the University of Berlin, and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Leipzig in 1837. He worked at a mineral water factory from 1835 till he received a position at the Königlichen Gewerbeschule in Chemnitz (Royal Saxon Industrial School) in 1838. Heinrich VII, Prince Reuss of Köstritz (german: Heinrich VII. Reuß zu Köstritz; 14 July 1825, Klipphausen – 2 May 1906, Trzebiechów) was a German diplomat. Early life Prince Heinrich VII Reuss of Köstritz was born in 1825 as the fifth child and third son of Prince Heinrich LXIII, Prince Reuss of Köstritz and his first wife, Countess Eleonore of Stolberg-Wernigerode (1801-1827). Wulf Kirsten (21 June 1934 – 14 December 2022) was a German poet, novelist, and publisher. He is known for his nature poetry and his essays on the history and culture of Saxony. The son of a stonemason, Kirsten was born in Klipphausen, Meissen on 21 June 1934. He worked as salesman, bookkeeper and labourer before graduating from the Workers' and Farmers' College (''Arbeiter- und Bauern-Fakultät'') of Leipzig in 1960, and then completed a teaching degree in German and Russian in 1964. At the same time he worked on a freelance basis for the compilers of the ''Dictionary of the Upper Saxon Dialects'', providing them with more than a thousand words from his own household. After obtaining his degree, he worked briefly as a teacher, and then in 1965 moved to Weimar to work for the Aufbau Verlag publishing house, where he would stay until 1987.
