Smooth Radio Breakfast
''Simon Bates at Breakfast'' was the flagship show on Smooth Radio in the United Kingdom from January 2011 to March 2014. It was presented by Simon Bates, who took on the role of the station's breakfast show presenter on 4 January 2011, having left his long-term show at Classic FM in order to take up the position. The programme aired on weekdays from 6.00am to 10.00am, and included ''Our Tune'' and '' The Golden Hour'', two features Bates had previously presented on BBC Radio 1. Bates occasionally took the show out on location for special editions, such as a week-long broadcast from Camp Bastion in December 2011 and the Falkland Islands in June 2012. Freesat
Freesat is a British free-to-air satellite television service, first formed as a joint venture between the BBC and ITV plc and now owned by Digital UK. The service was formed as a memorandum in 2007 and has been marketed since 6 May 2008. Daryl Denham
Daryl Denham is a British disc jockey, radio presenter and songwriter. Early career Denham's career started at school, where he was active in producing pop music productions in school concerts, organizing pop quizzes and writing and performing parody songs. He worked privately as a DJ in his own time. After leaving school, he began his first live show at the "Radio Forest" community hospital radio station, based in Epping, Essex. He later became chairman of the organisation and is still a member there today. His early broadcasting career was at BBC Radio Kent, Invicta FM, (where he once fell asleep during an overnight show), SGR-FM in Essex and Chiltern FM in Dunstable. Patrick Sharpin, known professionally as Pat Sharp (born 25 October 1961), is an English radio presenter, television presenter and DJ. In the UK, he is known mainly for his work on the children's ITV programme ''Fun House'', and his extensive radio career. Mark Goodier
Mark Goodier (born 9 June 1961) is a British radio disc jockey best known for his time on BBC Radio 1 between 1987 and 2002. He had two spells presenting the station's Top 40 singles chart, from 1990 to 1992 and from 1995 until 2002. He also had a stint on ''Radio 1 Breakfast'' during 1993. He currently presents the mid-morning show between 10am and 1pm on Greatest Hits Radio. Voice-tracking, also called cyber jocking and referred to sometimes colloquially as a robojock, is a technique employed by some radio stations in radio broadcasting to produce the illusion of a live disc jockey or announcer sitting in the radio studios of the station when one is not actually present. It is one of the notable effects of radio homogenization. Background Strictly speaking, voice-tracking refers to the process of a disc jockey prerecording his or her on-air "patter." Smooth 70s
Smooth 70s was a British radio station dedicated to 1970s in music, music from the 1970s. Launched by GMG Radio as a sister station to Smooth Radio (2010), Smooth Radio, it first aired on 27 December 2011, replacing a temporary station GMG had launched for the Christmas period. The station was broadcast through Digital Audio Broadcasting, DAB on the Digital One multiplex and was also available online, where it could be accessed using RadioCentre, Radioplayer. The station operated largely on an automated basis, but there was also some presenter input. Although Smooth 70s was not the first UK radio station to be dedicated solely to music from the decade, it was the first to be broadcast nationally.
