''Sektor Gaza'' (russian: link=no, italic=yes, Сектор Газа, translated as ''Gas Sector'') was a Soviet and Russian punk rock band from Voronezh, founded in 1987 by Yuri Klinskikh. History Sektor Gaza was founded in Voronezh by Yuri Klinskikh, also known as Yuri "Khoy". The group is named after an industrial district of Voronezh nicknamed Sektor Gaza due to its high levels of environmental contamination (also corresponds to the Russian name of Gaza Strip). Sektor Gaza's first performance as a group occurred at the local rock club on 9 June 1988, but the group's official date of establishment is traditionally given as 5 December 1987, the date of Klinskikh's first solo performance of material from Sektor Gaza's future repertoire at the Voronezh Rock Club. Koschei ( rus, Коще́й, r=Koshchey, p=kɐˈɕːej), often given the epithet "the Immortal", or "the Deathless" (russian: Коще́й Бессме́ртный), is an archetypal male antagonist in Russian folklore. The most common feature of tales involving Koschei is a spell which prevents him from being killed. He hides his soul inside nested objects to protect it. Krasnaya Plesen (russian: Красная плесень, literally, red mold), is a Russian punk rock group based in Yalta, active from 1989 to this day and having released 71 full albums. The name of the band is a mockery on the term Krasnaya Presnya (russian: Красная Пресня - Red Presnya). Yuri Nikolaevich Klinskikh
Yuri Nikolayevich Klinskikh (russian: Юрий Николаевич Клинских; July 27, 1964 – July 4, 2000) was a Russian musician, singer, songwriter, arranger, and founder of the rock band Sektor Gaza. He was also known as Yuri "Khoy". Biography From 1982 to 1984, Klinskikh served in the Soviet Army in the Far East. From 1984 to 1986, he worked in the traffic police, and then as a milling-machine operator in a factory. He started writing songs as a hobby in his early school years . He began performing in 1987. In 1988, he founded the band Sektor Gaza. On July 4, 2000, Klinskikh reportedly felt severe chest and stomach pain, but chose not to cancel a meeting later that day to film a music video for the song "Noch Straha" ("Night of Fear"). He died that day, at the age of 35, in Voronezh.
