SectorSeven was a Canadian punk band from in Grimsby, Ontario, founded in 1992. Their name, which was originally two words, is taken from the 1969 science-fiction novel The Andromeda Strain. History The band began with Lee Williamson (guitar), Mike Burke (drums), Jon Gauthier (vocals, guitar), Brad Parent (bass) and Ryan Allan (guitar). In 1998, they released their first album, ''Comfort Zone'', on United Records. In 1999, they released ''Along the Way'', on Raw Energy Records. The album received airplay on college radio and was profiled on Edge 102's ''Indie Hour with Dave Bookman''. Much Music VJ, Rachel Perry called it "some of the best Canadian punk I've heard since Propagandhi." In 2000, Allan left the band and they were signed to Sonic Unyon, which released both of their previous albums as the set ''Dual''. Grimsby, Ontario
Grimsby is a town on Lake Ontario in the Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada. Grimsby is at the eastern end of the Hamilton Census Metropolitan Area. It is named after the English fishing town of Grimsby in north-east Lincolnshire. The majority of residents reside in the area bounded by Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment, home to a section of the Bruce Trail. Grimsby has experienced significant growth over the past two decades due to its position between Hamilton and St. Catharines. Growth is limited by the natural boundaries of Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment. Some residents feel development is detrimental to the town as orchards close to the town centre are used for residential development; however, most of the orchards in Grimsby were replaced by houses between the 1950s and 1980s and very few orchards remain. Rachel Perry
Rachel Perry (born January 20, 1976) is a Canadian TV personality working in the United States. The former MuchMusic VJ is the host of ''All Access'' on VH1, and is the narrator for '' Web Junk 20'', and the host of "The Stash" on Playboy TV. Born in Brockville, Ontario, Perry has done numerous narrations and voiceovers for VH1 shows, specials and Viacom channels specials, including Viacom owned gay and lesbian station Logo. She was also the co-host of VH1's reality show ''Strip Search'' which lasted for one season. She was co-host of '' Pepsi Smash''. Perry began working at VH1 in January 2001 where she hosted ''VH1 News'', ''All Access'' and the morning video show. In June 2001, she hosted Not Much On Day, a MuchMusic marathon of music videos which featured pop stars wearing little or no clothing. Fox Racing is an American extreme sports (primarily motocross and mountainbiking), protective equipment and lifestyle clothing brand founded in 1974. Fox is owned by Vista Outdoor. Wakestock (Canada)
The Wakestock Action Sports and Music Festival is a wakeboarding contest and Canada's largest action sports and music festival. It is held in Ontario, Canada on the Toronto Islands, Toronto, Ontario. The name Wakestock refers to the famous outdoor music festival Woodstock. History Wakestock was born out of Bala, Ontario. In 2005, the festival was moved to Toronto Islands from August 11–14. Each year the wakeboard competition is accompanied by a music festival. There are several stages with different bands playing throughout day. There are also other attractions—in 2005 there was a skatepark set up for anyone with a skateboard. There was a Pro Freestyle motocross demonstration as well as a rail competition set up for wakeboarders. There are also separate designated alcohol serving areas because the entire festival is for all ages. Wakestock 2015 was canceled and 2016 never got beyond planning stages. Siegfried Meier (born August 9, 1977) is a musician, record producer, and recording, mixing and mastering engineer. Meier is known for his work in the genres of rock, metal, pop, and punk, producing and engineering for groups such as Face to Face, Kittie, Sectorseven, and Baptized in Blood. In 2013, Meier won a Juno award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year producing and engineering ''Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light'' by Woods of Ypres. Meier is the owner of Ontario-based recording studio, Beach Road Studios. Early life Born in Oberviechtach, Germany, Meier moved to Canada at a young age. MuchMusic Video Awards
The iHeartRadio MMVAs were an annual awards show broadcast on Much to honour the year's best music videos that was last held in 2018. Originally debuting in 1990 as the Canadian Music Video Awards, the awards were renamed in 1995 to the MuchMusic Video Awards, reflecting the original (1984–2013) "MuchMusic" name of the Much channel. In 2016, the show was rebranded under the iHeartRadio banner after Much's parent company, Bell Media, reached a licensing agreement with iHeartMedia. In 2018, the show's full name was officially dropped. In 2019, six years after changing the name of MuchMusic to Much, and having reduced its music video programming to just one hour daily (''Much Retro Lunch''), the ceremony was not held, citing supposed scheduling conflicts with other events occurring in Toronto. Propagandhi is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba in 1986 by guitarist Chris Hannah and drummer Jord Samolesky. The band is currently located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and completed by bassist Todd Kowalski and guitarist Sulynn Hago. While their earlier work was aligned with the punk rock and skate punk tradition, in later years Propagandhi records have moved towards a heavier and more technical heavy metal-influenced sound. Much (an abbreviation for its full name MuchMusic) is a Canadian English language specialty channel owned by BCE Inc. through its Bell Media subsidiary that airs programming aimed at teenagers and young adults.
