Rangaraj Subbiah (born 3 October 1954), professionally known as Sathyaraj, is an Indian actor, producer, director and a media personality who has predominantly appeares in Tamil cinema and Telugu Cinema. His 240 films also include works in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. He started his career in antagonistic roles and later played lead roles. He met with success through lead performances in ''Vedham Pudhithu'' (1987), ''Nadigan'' (1990), ''Amaidhi Padai'' (1994), ''Periyar'' (2007) and ''Onbadhu Roobai Nottu'' (2007). He also received acclaim for supporting roles in ''Nanban'' (2012), ''Mirchi'' (2013), '' Raja Rani'' (2013), ''Baahubali'' (2015), '' Baahubali 2'' (2017), '' Kanaa'' (2018), and ''Jersey'' (2019). He was also the director of the film ''Villadhi Villain'' (1995), starring himself in three different roles. Divya Sathyaraj
Divya Sathyaraj is an Indian nutritionist. She is the daughter of actor Sathyaraj and sister of Sibi. Divya is the goodwill ambassador of The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF), an NGO implementing the Government of India’s Midday Meal Scheme for school children. She has also started a movement in 2020, ''Mahilmadhi Iyakkam'', an initiative to provide healthy and nutritious meals to the malnourished and under-privileged communities, free of cost. Vedham Pudhithu
''Vedham Pudhithu'' () is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Bharathiraja. It is based on the play ''Saadhigal Illaiyadi Papa'' written by K. Kannan, who after this film came to be known as ''Vedham Pudhithu'' Kannan. The film stars Sathyaraj, Saritha and Amala, with Raja, Charuhasan, Nizhalgal Ravi, Janagaraj and Master Dasarathi in supporting roles. It revolves around an atheist whose son falls in love with a Brahmin woman in the same village, leading to catastrophic consequences. ''Vedham Pudhithu'' criticises the caste system, Tamil Brahminism and their hypocrisies. It was released on 27 December 1987, and became controversial for its depiction of Tamil Brahmins, with the Tamil Nadu Brahmins Association calling for its banning. Amaidhi Padai
''Amaidhi Padai'' () is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language political action film, written and directed by Manivannan. Sathyaraj played a dual role as father and son in the film, with Ranjitha playing the female lead. The story revolves around an ordinary man Ammavasai who builds his political career through shortcuts and unethical means, while his son grows up to be an honest law enforcer.
