Sameh Shoukry
Sameh Hassan Shoukry ( ar, سامح شكري; born 20 October 1952) is an Egyptian diplomat who has been Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt since 2014. Previously, Shoukry served as the Ambassador of Egypt to the United States from 2008 to 2012. He is expected to preside over the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference. Career From 1976 until 1978, Sameh Shoukry worked as Attaché in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo. Between 1978 and 1982, he was the Third Secretary at the Embassy of Egypt in London, United Kingdom. In 1982, Shoukry became the Second Secretary of the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. From 1984 until 1988, he served as First Secretary of the Embassy of Egypt in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 2014 Nuclear Security Summit was a summit held in The Hague, the Netherlands, on March 24 and 25, 2014. It was the third edition of the conference, succeeding the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit.
