SMP F4 Championship
The SMP F4 Championship (also known as the F4 NEZ Championship by SMP Racing) was a racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations. It was based in the FIA's North European Zone and the Netherlands, and was only open to drivers from these countries. The inaugural season was the 2015 SMP F4 Championship. After the 2019 season SMP Formula 4 Championship lost FIA certification. The series was relocated to Russia as a support series for the Russian Circuit Racing Series. The drivers competes for Cup of Russian Automobile Federation. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of the Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula One more transparent. Besides sporting and technical regulations, costs are regulated too. MP Motorsport (previously Marcel Peters Motorsport) is a Dutch auto racing team currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Moscow Raceway
Moscow Raceway is an FIA-approved motor racing venue, which is situated in the Volokolamsky District of Moscow Oblast, near the villages of Sheludkovo and Fedyukovo, from Moscow, Russia. It opened on 13 July 2012 for its first event as the fifth round of the World Series by Renault becoming the first major international motor-sport race track event in Russia. It is an FIA Grade 1 circuit, which means that it has all the requirements necessary to host a Formula One race, though the Sochi Autodrom formerly hosted Russian Formula One races during the existence of the Russian Grand Prix as a World Championship event. 2019 SMP F4 Championship
The 2019 SMP F4 Championship was the first season of the SMP F4 Championship, following the closure of the preceding F4 North European Zone Championship at the end of 2018. The 7 round-provisional calendar gets all circuits in Russia. The series is situated with Russian Circuit Racing Series. But addition to the calendar was made after the scheduled 7th round in Sochi was cancelled. 7th round rescheduled return in Finland and Formula Academy Finland races at Alastaro, where the grid was joined by the final round of Formula 4 SMP. Konsta Lappalainen
Konsta Lappalainen (born 11 August 2001) is a Finnish racing driver. He is currently driving in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for Emil Frey Racing. Career Karting Born and raised in Espoo, Lappalainen started his karting career in 2012. His best result was winning the Finnish Karting Championship in the OK class in 2016. Lower formulae In 2016 Lappalainen made his single-seater racing debut with part-time appearances in the 2016 F4 Spanish Championship, F4 Spanish Championship. Christian Lundgaard
Christian Lundgaard (born 23 July 2001) is a Danish professional racing driver who is driving the No. 45 Honda for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in the IndyCar Series. He was the 2022 IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, and was a member of the Alpine Academy from 2017 until 2022. Lundgaard began his single-seater career in 2017, where he won the F4 Spanish and SMP F4 Championship in his debut year. In 2018, he made a move to the Formula Renault Eurocup, where he placed runner-up to Max Fewtrell. He secured a promotion to ART Grand Prix in the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship where he ended 6th. Richard Verschoor
Richard Verschoor (born 16 December 2000) is a Dutch racing driver set to compete for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport. Verschoor became the first Dutch driver to win the Macau Grand Prix, winning at his first attempt in 2019. 2016 SMP F4 Championship
The 2016 SMP F4 Championship season is the second season of the SMP F4 Championship. It began on 29 April at Sochi and finished on 10 September at Ahvenisto after 20 races held across seven rounds. This season saw the F4 debut of the Dutch team MP Motorsport, which joined Koiranen GP and SMP Racing in fielding cars and drivers. The series also expanded to the Netherlands, hosting some races as well as a parallel championship to the SMP F4 championship, called the Dutch F4 Trophy. The series is a FIA North-European Zone (NEZ) championship as in 2015. NEZ Council agreed in its meeting in 20 March to allow KNAF licence holders to score points in the championship. Niko Kari (born 6 October 1999) is a Finnish racing driver who last raced in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport. He won his first single-seater championship, the 2015 SMP F4 Championship, in his debut year in car racing and is a former member of the Red Bull Junior Team. Career Karting Kari started karting in 2009 and took part in his first race in 2010. He raced in several national karting series in Finland from 2010 to 2013. 2015 SMP F4 Championship
The 2015 SMP F4 Championship season in motorsport, was the inaugural season of the SMP F4 Championship, a racing series regulated according to Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA Formula 4 regulations. It was a motor racing series for the North European Zone (NEZ) held in Estonia, Finland and Russia. The 2015 season began on 16 May at Ahvenisto Race Circuit, Ahvenisto in Finland and finished on 3 October at the auto24ring in Estonia, after seven triple header rounds.
