Säynätsalo is a former municipality in Finland and a part of Jyväskylä. As of November 2010 its population was 3,340. Säynätsalo municipality consisted of islands of Säynätsalo and Lehtisaari and also a part of Muuratsalo island. All of the islands are located on the Lake Päijänne. Also a small slice of land on the continent was part of the municipality. Säynätsalo is famous for Säynätsalo Town Hall. Säynätsalo Town Hall
The Säynätsalo Town Hall ( fi, Säynätsalon kunnantalo) is a multifunction building complex, consisting of two main buildings organised around a centralised courtyard; a U-shaped council chamber and town hall with administrative offices and a community library with and flats. The Town Hall was designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for the municipality of Säynätsalo (merged with the municipality of Jyväskylä in 1993) in Central Finland. Aalto received the commission after a design contest in 1949, and the building was completed in December 1951. The town hall is considered one of the most important buildings Aalto designed in his career. Muuratsalo
Muuratsalo is an island in lake Päijänne, Finland. The northern part of the island belongs to Jyväskylä and the southern part to Muurame. It is located south from the Jyväskylä city centre and east from Muurame. There are 800 inhabitants in Muuratsalo. The Muuratsalo Experimental House by Alvar Aalto is located on the island. Lake Päijänne
Lake Päijänne () is the second largest lake in Finland (). The lake drains into the Gulf of Finland via the Kymi River. The major islands are from north to south Vuoritsalo, Muuratsalo, Onkisalo, Judinsalo, Edessalo, Taivassalo, Haukkasalo, Vehkasalo, Mustassalo, Virmailansaari and Salonsaari. Korpilahti
Korpilahti is a former municipality of Finland. Together with Jyväskylän maalaiskunta, Korpilahti was consolidated with Jyväskylä on January 1, 2009. It is located in the former province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. There are about 4,500 summer-time inhabitants visiting the 2,000 summer cottages. The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The municipality was also known as "Korpilax" in Swedish. Muurame
Muurame is a municipality of Finland, located south-west of Jyväskylä. Muurame itself is located between two lakes, Lake Päijänne and Lake Muuratjärvi. These two lakes are connected to each other via River Muurame. All together there are 37 lakes in Muurame. Biggest lakes beside Päijänne are Muuratjärvi and Lake Kuusjärvi. Säyneinen is a village and a former municipality of Finland at the time of its existence in the Kuopio Province, now in Northern Savonia. Together with Muuruvesi, it was consolidated with Juankoski in 1971, since 2017 part of Kuopio. Geography The municipality bordered Juankoski, Muuruvesi, Rautavaara, Juuka, Kaavi and Nilsiä. The village of Säyneinen is located between two lakes called ''Suuri-Säyneinen'' and ''Pieni-Säyneinen''.
