Korpilahti
Korpilahti is a former municipality of Finland. Together with Jyväskylän maalaiskunta, Korpilahti was consolidated with Jyväskylä on January 1, 2009. It is located in the former province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. There are about 4,500 summer-time inhabitants visiting the 2,000 summer cottages. The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The municipality was also known as "Korpilax" in Swedish. The Swedish name is now considered outdated according to the Institute for the Languages of Finland. Politically, Centre Party is dominant. Korpilahti was one of the poorest municipalities in Finland with an unemployment rate of 14.4% (2002). Korpilahti is relatively well known for its beautiful nature, with mountains and about 200 lakes. Lake Päijänne, the second greatest lake in Finland, is partially in the area of Korpilahti. Moksi (Korpilahti)
Moksi is a small village in Korpilahti, since 2009 a part of Jyväskylä. It is located in the Pohjois-Korpilahti sub-district along with Tikkala and Sarvenperä-Saukkola. Geography Moksi is located near a lake named ''Moksinjärvi'', connected to Päijänne by the Vuojoki. History Moksi is named after a local farm, established in 1582. According to Terho Itkonen, the name is of Sámi origin and related to the Inari Sámi word ''mokseđ'' meaning "to cross over water". The village name Moksi in Vihti likely has the same origin. As a village, Moksi was first mentioned in 1773 as ''Moxi''. It was a part of Jämsä until 1861 when Korpilahti became an independent municipality. After Korpilahti's consolidation with Jyväskylä in 2009, Moksi became one of its sub-districts. Jyväskylä () is a city and municipality in Finland in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. Jyväskylän maalaiskunta ( sv, Jyväskylä landskommun), 'The Rural Municipality of Jyväskylä' is a List of former municipalities of Finland, former municipality of Finland. Muurame
Muurame is a municipality of Finland, located south-west of Jyväskylä. Muurame itself is located between two lakes, Lake Päijänne and Lake Muuratjärvi. These two lakes are connected to each other via River Muurame. All together there are 37 lakes in Muurame. Biggest lakes beside Päijänne are Muuratjärvi and Lake Kuusjärvi. River Muurame streams through the population center of Muurame. Muurame was founded in 1921. The Muurame church is of Alvar Aalto's design, being his first church design to be completed in 1929. Koskenpää is a village and former municipality of Finland in the Central Finland region. It was consolidated with Jämsänkoski in 1969, which in turn was consolidated with Jämsä in 2009. Jämsänkoski
Jämsänkoski is a former town and municipality of Finland in the Central Finland region. It is located near Lake Päijänne and the Jämsänjoki river. The town had a population of 7,351 in 2008. It covered an area of 448.67 km² of which 48.02 km² is water. The population density was 16.9 inhabitants per km². The municipality of Koskenpää was consolidated with Jämsänkoski in 1969, while Jämsänkoski was consolidated with Jämsä in 2009.
