Swimming At The 2010 Asian Games – Men's 4 × 100 Metre Medley Relay
The men's 4 × 100 metre medley relay event at the 2010 Asian Games took place on 18 November 2010 at Guangzhou Aoti Aquatics Centre. There were 15 teams who took part in this event. Two heats were held. The heat in which a team competed did not formally matter for advancement, as the teams with the top eight times from the both field qualified for the finals. Japan won the gold medal with 3 minutes 34.10 seconds. China was disqualified because of Wang Shuai's false start, although they reached the terminal first. Ryosuke Irie
is a Japanese competitive swimmer who competes in backstroke events. He is a Kindai University student in Osaka. He won a silver medal in the 200 metre backstroke and a bronze in the 100 metre backstroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics, along with a silver in the men's 4 × 100 m medley with the Japanese team. His beautiful backstroke technique has often been compared to Roland Matthes, who was described as the Rolls-Royce of swimming. Biography He was born in Osaka and started his actual swimming career in his junior high school years. When he was in the second grade, future Olympic backstroke medalist Ryosuke Irie hated swimming. He loathed it so much that his mother had to carry a crying Irie to his coach at poolside. Stanislav Kuzmin
Stanislav Kuzmin ( kk, Станислав Кузьмин; born June 24, 1986) is a Kazakh swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. He represented his nation Kazakhstan at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a career total of eight medals (four golds, two silver, and two bronze) in a major international competition, spanning two editions of the Asian Indoor Games, and the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, as a member of the medley relay team. Kuzmin also spent his college sports career in the United States as a member of the Drury Panthers swimming and diving team under head coach Brian Reynolds, while pursuing his sports management studies at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Kuzmin competed for the Kazakh swimming squad in the men's 50 m freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The 2010 Asian Games (), officially known as the XVI Asian Games () and also known as Guangzhou 2010 (), was a regional multi-sport event celebrated from November 12 to November 27, 2010 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, although several events commenced earlier on November 7, 2010. It was the second time China had hosted the Asian Games, with the first one being Asian Games 1990 hosted in Beijing.
