Swedish Holiness Union
The Swedish Holiness Union (Swedish: ) was a Swedish free church denomination from 1887 to 1994. Originally, the Holiness Union was a mission society, but gradually it became a denomination with a Baptist and evangelical orientation. In 1994, after five years of cooperation, the Holiness Union merged with the Free Baptist Union () into , which in turn merged with Örebro Mission in 1997 to form the denomination , called the Evangelical Free Church in Sweden since 2002. A free church is a Christian denomination that is intrinsically separate from government (as opposed to a state church). A free church does not define government policy, and a free church does not accept church theology or policy definitions from the government. A free church also does not seek or receive government endorsements or funding to carry out its work. The term is especially relevant in countries with established state churches. Peter Halldorf
Peter Halldorf (born 21 June 1958) is a Swedish Pentecostal pastor, self-taught theologian, and writer. He is known for exploring Patristics, particularly the Desert Fathers, within a Pentecostal context. His interest has led him to be dubbed "The Pentecostal Monk" and sometimes prays in Coptic monasteries. He is a third-generation Pentecostal preacher who became interested in the Desert Fathers out of concerns Pentecostalism could fall into worldliness or shallowness. The Flodberg Circle (Swedish: ) was a Swedish Christian ecumenical circle of friends with an interest in mysticism in Stockholm around the turn of the 20th century and for the next 30 years. History The circle gathered around lantern lighter (1848–1933) and customs officer (1870–1934). Schager had previously been part of the Swedish Holiness Union's conference and mission school. The group met in a small room at Köpmangatan 10 in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, where they engaged in spiritual and social activities. Brunstad Christian Church (BCC) is a worldwide evangelical non-denominational Christian church. Established in Norway early in the 20th century.
