Brunstad Christian Church
Brunstad Christian Church (BCC) is a worldwide evangelical non-denominational Christian church. Established in Norway early in the 20th century. It is represented by more than 220 churches in 54 countries. An overview of members per country shows a total of 20,000 members in 2016. As many as two thirds of its members live outside Norway. For many years the group did not have a formal name and was referred to as ''Smith's Friends'', particularly in Norway. History Johan Oscar Smith (1871–1943), the church's founder, was originally a member of the Methodist church. After a religious conversion in 1898 Smith began preaching to small gatherings. In 1905, his brother Aksel Smith (1880–1919) joined him. Smith had early contact with the Pentecostal movement in Norway and Aksel Smith cooperated with Thomas Ball Barratt during the first few years after Barratt introduced Pentecostalism to Norway in 1906–1907. Evangelicalism
Evangelicalism (), also called evangelical Christianity or evangelical Protestantism, is a worldwide interdenominational movement within Protestant Christianity that affirms the centrality of being " born again", in which an individual experiences personal conversion; the authority of the Bible as God's revelation to humanity (biblical inerrancy); and spreading the Christian message. The word ''evangelical'' comes from the Greek (''euangelion'') word for " good news". Western Europe
Western Europe is the western region of Europe. The region's countries and territories vary depending on context. Sigurd Bratlie
Sigurd Rudolf Guldbrandsen Bratlie (July 27, 1905 – January 24, 1996) was the leader of Brunstad Christian Church from 1976 until his death in 1996. Bratlie was born in Nordstrand, Norway and was the youngest of nine children. A tailor by trade, Bratlie met Johan Oscar Smith at a church service in 1920 while still serving his apprenticeship. He became an influential member, and later leader, of Brunstad Christian Church. He travelled widely as a missionary and was the subject of international media attention when he was imprisoned for 143 days in Baghdad, Iraq in 1978 for holding Christian meetings. Oslofjord Convention Center
Oslofjord Convention Center is a convention center in Stokke, Norway, as well as the company established to manage the facility. Ownership and management Oslofjord Convention Center is a commercial entity (joint-stock company) with ''Stiftelsen Brunstad Stevnested'' as its ultimate parent entity. Until 2000 the facility was only used by Brunstad Christian Church. Following a major upgrade in 2004, the center now operates as a commercial convention center hosting large-scale corporate exhibitions and conventions. Oslofjord Convention Center Brunstad Christian Church purchased the farm ''Nedre Brunstad Gård'' in 1956. In 2004, a major upgrade costing more than 620 million Norwegian krone was completed. Leonberg
Leonberg (; swg, Leaberg) is a town in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg about to the west of Stuttgart, the state capital.
