Svein Longva
Svein Longva (20 December 1943 – 16 April 2009) was a Norwegian economist and civil servant. He was born in Oslo, but his family moved to Volda in 1950. After completing his secondary education there in 1962, he enrolled in political economy studies at the University of Oslo. Here, he was briefly involved in the Norwegian Labour Party student group, which was dominated by later politicians like Gudmund Hernes and Einar Førde. After graduating with the cand.oecon. degree, he was hired in Statistics Norway in 1968, was promoted to research director in 1984 and was managing director from 1991 to 2004. He was also a visiting scholar at Harvard University for a brief period in the 1970s. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. Kari Gjesteby
Kari Gjesteby (born 16 May 1947) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She has never been a member of the Norwegian Parliament, but has been State Secretary for three tenures, as well as Minister of Trade and Shipping from February to October 1981 and Minister of Justice and the Police from 1990 to 1992. After her political career she has been a director in the Bank of Norway, director of the National Library of Norway and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille and, from 2009 to 2013, the first female State Conciliator of Norway. Reidar Ludvig Webster (11 January 1935 – 15 January 2022) was a Norwegian civil servant. Biography He was born in Oslo as son of manager Reidar Ludvig Webster (1905–1966) and wife pianist Astrid Thyrnhi (1901–1981). Geir Engebretsen (born 22 March 1952) is a Norwegian jurist and civil servant. He was born in Oslo, and graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1978. He was a subdirector and head of department in the Ministry of Justice and the Police from 1985 to 1991, except for the years 1987 to 1989 when he worked in the county governor office. He was also acting County Governors of Oslo and Akershus, as Gunnar Alf Larsen left in 1988 and Kåre Willoch could not assume the position until 1989.
