Susanne Nyström, born 29 December 1982 in Laisvall, Sweden is a Swedish female cross-country skier and nurse. She competed for Laisvalls SK, having competed for clubs like IFK Mora SK, Arvidsjaur Ski Team] Luleå Gjutarens IF and Piteå Elit Piteå Elit is a cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing club from Piteå in northern Sweden. Vasaloppet Winners
(Swedish for 'the Vasa-race') is an annual long distance cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. The course starts in the village of Berga, just south of Sälen in western Dalarna, Sweden, and ends in the town of Mora in the central part of the province. It is the oldest cross-country ski race in the world, as well as the one with the highest number of participants. The race was inspired by a notable journey King Gustav Vasa made from Mora to Sälen when he was fleeing from Christian II's soldiers during the winter of 1520–1521 in the beginning of the Swedish War of Liberation. According to legend, he fled on skis. The modern competition started in 1922 and it has been a part of the Worldloppet events since 1979. The 2006–07 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season for cross-country skiers. It was the 26th official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and ladies. The season began on 28 October 2006 with 800m sprint races for women in Düsseldorf which was eventually won by Marit Bjørgen of Norway. This season, Tour de Ski was a part of the World Cup for the first time. The World Cup is organised by the FIS who also run world cups and championships in ski jumping, snowboarding and alpine skiing amongst others. Piteå Elit
Piteå Elit is a cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing club from Piteå in northern Sweden. In the 2011-12 season, three skiers represented Sweden internationally. The club also has many skiers now skiing on the national level. The club had two skiers, Magdalena Pajala and Jesper Modin, competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Sweden. Former skier Magnus Ingesson from the club was the head coach for the Swedish cross-country skiing team in the 2010 Winter Olympics. IFK Mora
IFK Mora is a sports club in Mora, Sweden. The club was founded on 22 August 1909, and became an alliance club on 1 January 1992, following a 1991 decision. IFK Mora is known for its successes in orienteering and cross-country skiing but is also active in athletics, gymnastics, and football. IFK Mora and Sälens IF own and arrange Vasaloppet together every year. The best known profile in the club is Nils "Mora-Nisse" Karlsson, Olympic gold winner in cross-country skiing in 1948 and won Vasaloppet nine times.
