The 2004–05 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 24th official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and ladies. The season began in Düsseldorf, Germany on 23 October 2004 and was concluded in Falun, Sweden on 20 March 2005. René Sommerfeldt
René Sommerfeldt (born 2 October 1974 in Zittau) is a German cross-country skier who competed from 1994 to 2010. He won two medals in the 4 × 10 km relays at the Winter Olympics with a silver in 2006 and a bronze in 2002. Sommerfeldt's best individual Olympic finish was 12th in the 15 km event in 2006. Sommerfeldt also has three medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, earning two silvers (50 km: 2001, 4 × 10 km relay: 2003) and one bronze (4 × 10 km relay: 2001). Ramsau Am Dachstein
Ramsau am Dachstein is a municipality in the district of Liezen, state of Styria, Austria. It is also the name of the elevated plateau between the Dachstein range and the Enns valley on which this municipality is located. The appendage ''am Dachstein'' is added to distinguish the municipality from others of the same name existing in Austria. It is usually omitted in common speech. Geography Ramsau am Dachstain is situated between the Dachstein range of mountains in the north and the Enns valley in the south. Björn Johan Lind (born March 22, 1978, in Ljusterö, Uppland) is a Swedish former cross-country skier who competed since 2000. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he won gold medals in both the Individual and Team sprint events at Turin in 2006. Jens Arne Svartedal
Jens Arne Svartedal (born February 14, 1976) is a Norwegian former cross-country skier who competed in the World Cup between 1999 and 2010. He represented Trøsken IL from Sarpsborg in Norway. His greatest achievement is winning the individual sprint gold medal at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo. Johan Kjølstad (born 9 March 1983) is a Norwegian cross-country skier who has competed since 2002. Born in Levanger, he represents the sports club Skogn IL. Competing in two Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of seventh in the individual sprint event at Turin in 2006. He finished sixth overall in the ''Sprint Cup'' at the 2007-08 Cross-country Skiing World Cup, and won one of the races. At the 2009 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Kjølstad won the sprint prologue before American Andrew Newell and Russian Alexei Petukhov. Thobias Fredriksson (born 4 April 1975 in Dals Rostock, Dalsland) is a Swedish former cross-country skier who competed since 2000. He won two medals at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin with a gold in the team sprint and a bronze in the individual sprint events. Fredriksson also won two medals in the individual sprint events at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with a gold in 2003 and a bronze in 2005. After the 2010 season, Fredriksson retired. Giorgio Di Centa
Giorgio Di Centa (born 7 October 1972 in Tolmezzo, Province of Udine) is an Italian former cross-country skier who won two gold medals at the 2006 Winter Olympics, including the individual 50 km freestyle race. He is the younger brother of Olympic gold medalist, cross-country skier Manuela Di Centa. Biography Di Centa began cross-county skiing very early in a family in which his elder brother Andrea was also a professional skier. At the age of 16 he became a member of Italy's junior team while also skiing for the Carabinieri sport team. He became a member of Italy's senior team in 1995. He finished 8th in the 30 km event at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
