Susan Lea Clifford Narvaiz is an American politician. A Republican, she is the former mayor of San Marcos, Texas. She is the chief executive officer of Core Strategies, Inc. and a self-employed consultant. Early life and career Narvaiz, a native of Dayton, Ohio, was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to San Marcos in 1995 to open a branch office for a national staffing company. Narvaiz is a former chair of the Capital Area Council of Governments, as well as a chairperson for both the Capital Area Council of Government Executive Committee and the Hays-Caldwell Public Utility Agency. San Marcos ( ) is a city and the county seat of Hays County, Texas, United States. The city's limits extend into Caldwell and Guadalupe Counties, as well. San Marcos is within the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area and on the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio. Texas's 35th congressional district is a district that was created as a result of the 2010 United States census. The first candidates ran in the 2012 House elections and were seated for the 113th United States Congress. This election was won by Lloyd Doggett, who previously represented Texas's 25th congressional district before redistricting. The shape of the district has been described as one of the ten most gerrymandered in the United States. The district includes parts of the San Antonio metropolitan area (primarily black- and Hispanic-majority areas), including portions of Bexar County, thin strips of Comal and Hays Counties, a portion of Caldwell County, and portions of southern and eastern Austin in Travis County. Charles Eugene "Chip" Roy (born August 7, 1972) is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Texas's . A member of the Republican Party, Roy took office on January 3, 2019. Before his election to Congress, he served as chief of staff to Senator Ted Cruz and as first assistant attorney general of Texas. The 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Texas were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Voters elected the 36 U.S. representatives from the state of Texas, one from each of the state's 36 congressional districts. The elections coincided with the elections of other offices, including the gubernatorial election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. Lloyd Alton Doggett II (born October 6, 1946) is an American attorney and politician who is a U.S. representative from Texas. A member of the Democratic Party, he has represented a district based in Austin since 1995, currently numbered as Texas's 35th congressional district. Doggett is the only Democrat to represent any part of Austin in Congress. Doggett was previously a member of the Texas State Senate and a justice of the Texas Supreme Court.
