Sunrise Cup World Team Championship
The Sunrise Cup World Team Championship was a professional golf tournament contested by teams of two female golfers representing their respective countries. The tournament was played at the Sunrise Golf & Country Club in Taiwan. The field consisted of sixteen teams and each qualifying country could field one team. It was only held in October 1992 and was included on the Ladies European Tour schedule as an unofficial team event. It had a purse of $500,000. Typhoon Yvette impacted play with extremely strong winds and delays. Evelyn Orley
Evelyn Orley (born 10 July 1966) is a Swiss former professional golfer. Family Orley's grandfather Zoltan Őssy-Őlvy represented Hungary in the 1936 Summer Olympics in shooting, and her father Thomas Orley, born in Budapest, competed in fencing for the U.S. in the 1964 Summer Olympics. Her father later moved to Switzerland, where Evelyn was born. Her ultimate dream in golf had been to compete in the Olympics, even petitioning the International Olympic Committee in 1988 to add the sport. Career Orley won the 1983 Girls Amateur Championship and played college golf with the Duke Blue Devils at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where she won the 1985 ACC Championship individually. Marie-Laure De Lorenzi
Marie-Laure de Lorenzi (born 21 January 1961, in Biarritz) is a French professional golfer. She is also known by her married name Marie-Laure Taya, and competed using that name until midway through 1989 when she reverted to her maiden name. De Lorenzi played for her country in the European Lady Junior's Team Championship, for players up to the age of 21, from she was 14 years old in 1975 until 1982 and was on the winning team in 1979. She also won individually in 1981. De Lorenzi joined the Ladies European Tour in 1987 and is now a life member of the tour, having accumulated 19 tournament victories on it. She played for Europe in the first Solheim Cup, which took place in 1990, and was also a member of the European team in 1996 and 1998. Jenny Lidback (born 30 March 1963) is a professional golfer. Lidback was born in Lima, Peru to Swedish parents. She attended Texas Christian University and Louisiana State University. Lidback's rookie season on the LPGA Tour was 1989. Her only win on the Tour came in 1995 at one of the major championships, the du Maurier Ltd. Classic. Helen Wadsworth (born 7 April 1964) is a former Welsh professional golfer on the Ladies European Tour.
