Sunday Adewusi
Sunday Adedayo Adewusi (6 December 1936 – 26 January 2016) was a Nigerian policeman and former Inspector General of Police. He was appointed in 1981 to succeed Adamu Suleiman and was succeeded by Etim Inyang in 1983. He died at the age of 79 in 2016. He was born in Nassarawa state of Nigeria. Early life He started his education at Mada Station between 1944 and 1948, after which he proceeded to Baptist Day School, Jos where he stayed and completed his standard six between 1949 and 1950. He had his secondary education at Keffi from 1951 to 1956. Police Force He joined the Nigeria Police Force and had his police training at the Police College from 1957 to 1958 as a cadet sub-inspector. At the police college, he won the cane of honour. In 1965, he went to Police staff college in Scotland. The Inspector General of Police, abbreviated as IGP is the head of the Nigeria Police Force. He is the most senior officer in the police service. The pioneer IGP is Louis Edet and the current IGP is Usman Alkali Baba. Adamu Suleiman
Adamu Suleiman (born 14 May 1929) was a Nigerian policeman and former Inspector General. He was appointed in 1979 to succeed Muhammadu Dikko Yusufu and was succeeded by Sunday Adewusi in 1981. Suleiman attended Jimeta Elementary School between 1940 and 1944, followed by Yola Middle School until 1947. He then became a student at Barewa College in Zaria from 1947 to 1950, and the College of Technology in Zaria between 1954 and 1956. He then attended the University of Ibadan, from where he graduated with honours in Modern History in 1960. He was seconded into the Nigeria Police Force on 1 May 1966 as a deputy commissioner of police. Etim Inyang
Etim Okon Inyang (25 December 1931 – 26 September 2016) was a Nigerian Policeman and former Inspector General of Police. He was appointed in 1983 to succeed Sunday Adewusi and was succeeded by Muhammadu Gambo Jimeta in 1986. He died at the age of 84 in Lagos, Nigeria. Inyang was born in Enwang Mbo, Akwa Ibom, the son of Okon Inyang the traditional ruler at Enwang. He had his education at the Roman Catholic School, Uko-Akpan (1936 - 1937), Methodist School, Oron (1939 - 1940) and Oyubia Secondary School, Oron (1941 - 1945).
