Chunta Mountain Range
The Chonta mountain range (possibly from Aymara ''chunta'' prolonged, lengthened, Quechua ''chunta'' a kind of palm,) lies in the Huancavelica Region in the Andes of Peru. It extends between 12°37' and 13°07'S and 75°00' and 75°30'W for about 50 km. It is located in the Castrovirreyna Province and in the Huancavelica Province. The Castrovirreyna Province is one of seven provinces located in the Huancavelica Region of Peru. The capital of this province is the city of Castrovirreyna. Huancavelica () is a department and region in Peru with an area of and a population of 347,639 ( 2017 census). The capital is the city Huancavelica. Aymara (; also ) is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Bolivian Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers.The other native American languages with more than one million speakers are Nahuatl, Quechua languages, and Guaraní. Mountains Of Huancavelica Region
A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock. Although definitions vary, a mountain may differ from a plateau in having a limited summit area, and is usually higher than a hill, typically rising at least 300 metres (1,000 feet) above the surrounding land.
