''Suba Theraniyo'' ( si, සුබා තෙරණියෝ), theatrically as ''Jivakambavanika Hewath Suba Theraniyo'', is a 2019 Sri Lankan Sinhala Buddhist epic biographical film directed by Sumith Kumara and co-produced by Bisara Chanakya and Ananda Samarasinghe for S.A.S Entertainments. It stars Ruwangi Rathnayake and Roshan Ranawana in lead roles along with Sriyantha Mendis and Dilhani Ekanayake. Music composed by Rohana Weerasinghe. It is the 1331st Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. The film was released on Vesak Poya Day and to celebrate the 1562nd Sambuddhatva jayanthiya. The film has been screened in some Buddhist temples as well. The film was shown free for children under the age of 12. Plot The film is based on the life of prominent Buddhist nun Subha who delivered 34 Therigathas. Roshan Ranawana ( si, රොෂාන් රණවන) (born 23 March 1981) is a Sri Lankan film actor and a model. Ranawana was awarded the most popular actors award at the Derana film awards in 2013. DR. Rohana Weerasinghe (born February 18, 1949), is a Sri Lankan musician, composer and singer. Early life Weerasinghe was born on 18 February 1949 in Algiriya, Matara in southern Sri Lanka. He was the youngest child to his parents Henry Weerasinghe and Sepalin Weerasinghe. In 1954, Weerasinghe started schooling from Good Shepard Family Convent in Nuwara Eliya, and later moved to Vidyachakra Buddhist School Ruwan Eliya, Welimada Maha Vidyalaya, Pannipitya Dharmapala Vidyalaya and Gamini Maha Vidyalaya Nuwara Eliya.
