Stéphane Konaté
Kinidinnin Stéphane Konaté Sornan (born 23 August 1980) is an Ivorian basketball player for the ABC Fighters and . He is nicknamed "El Jefe" ("The Chef"). Professional career Konaté started his professional career with Africa Sports in 2002, while still attending high school. He played with the team for three seasons. In 2005, he signed with Abidjan Basket Club (abbreviated as ABC). Konaté won the 2015 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup with ABC. He was also named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. In 2008, Konaté signed in Morocco with ASE Essaouira of the Division Excellence. In the 2011–12 season, Konaté signed with Spanish side Palencia in the LEB Gold. He averaged 2.6 points in five games, playing 10.4 minutes per game. In the 2013–14 season, Konaté played with Egyptian side Gezira of the Egyptian Basketball Super League. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Abidjan Basket Club Fighters, commonly known as ABC Fighters, is an Ivorian basketball club based in the city of Abidjan. Founded in 1997, the team is the most successful men teams in the country, with 19 national championships won, and one continental FIBA Africa Champions Cup in 2005. 2023 BAL Season
The 2023 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 3, is the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 11 March 2023 and will end on 27 May 2023, with the playoffs and finals being played in the BK Arena in Kigali, which hosts the finals for a third season in a row. The regular season is played in Dakar, Senegal (Sahara Conference) and Cairo, Egypt (Nile Conference) for a second year in a row. The qualification games for the season, the Road to BAL, began on 11 October 2022. The winners of the 2023 BAL season will automatically qualify for the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup Singapore. FIBA Africa Club Champions Cup
The FIBA Africa Basketball League (formerly named the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup) was the highest caliber men's professional basketball competition for clubs until 2020, organized by the FIBA Africa and played by the champions of the leagues of the African countries. The league was replaced by the Basketball Africa League (BAL) from 2020. History The competition was founded in 1971. A year later, in 1972, Hit Trésor SC won the inaugural championship. For the first 33 years in existence, it was a biennial league. From 2004, the ACC was held yearly. The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee.
