''Sturisoma reisi'' is a species of catfish in the family Loricariidae. It is native to South America, where it occurs in the Cautário River, the Guaporé River, the Ji-Paraná River, the Mamoré River, and the Sotério River in the Madeira River basin in Bolivia and Brazil. Fish are aquatic, craniate, gill-bearing animals that lack limbs with digits. Included in this definition are the living hagfish, lampreys, and cartilaginous and bony fish as well as various extinct related groups. Mamoré River
The Mamoré is a large river in Brazil and Bolivia which unites with the Beni to form the Madeira, one of the largest tributaries of the Amazon. It rises on the northern slope of the Sierra de Cochabamba, east of the city of Cochabamba, and is known as the Chimoré down to its junction with the Chapare. Its larger tributaries are the Chapare, Secure, Apere, and Yacuma from the west, and the Ichilo, Guapay, Ivari, Manique and Guapore from the east. Taking into account its length only, the Guapay should be considered the upper part of the Mamore; but it is shallow and obstructed, and carries a much smaller volume of water. Ji-Paraná River
The Ji-Paraná River (Machado River), sometimes spelled Jiparaná, is a river in Rondônia state in western Brazil. It is a tributary of the Madeira River in the Amazon Basin. For much of its length it runs roughly parallel with the northeastern state border of Rondônia. The city of Ji-Paraná is divided by the river. Part of the river's basin is covered by the Jacundá National Forest, a sustainable use conservation unit. Part of the basin is in the Jaru Biological Reserve, a fully protected conservation unit created in 1984. The river forms the southern boundary in Rondônia of the Campos Amazônicos National Park, a protected area created in 2006 that holds an unusual enclave of cerrado vegetation in the Amazon rainforest.
