1628 Strobel, provisional designation , is a carbonaceous asteroid from the outer region of the asteroid belt, approximately 55 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 11 September 1923, by German astronomer Karl Reinmuth at Heidelberg Observatory in southern Germany, and named after ARI-astronomer Willi Strobel. Classification and orbit ''Strobel'' orbits the Sun in the outer main-belt at a distance of 2.8–3.2 AU once every 5 years and 3 months (1,909 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.07 and an inclination of 19 ° with respect to the ecliptic. Edward Henry Strobel
Edward Henry Strobel (December 7, 1855 – January 15, 1908) was a United States diplomat and a scholar in international law. Strobel was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 7, 1855. He was educated at Harvard College and at Harvard Law School. He was admitted to the New York bar in 1883. In 1885 he was appointed Secretary of the Legation of the United States to Spain, serving until 1890. Based on notes from his period in Madrid, Strobel wrote a book on the Spanish revolution in 1868. Strobel returned to become Third Assistant Secretary of State in Washington, D.C. during 1893–1894. He served as U.S. Minister to Ecuador in 1894, and to Chile from 1894 to 1897. He returned to Boston in 1898 to become the Bemis Professor of International Law. In 1903 Strobel took a leave of absence to represent the Kingdom of Siam at the International Peace Court in The Hague in 1903. Eric Martin Strobel (born June 5, 1958) is an American former ice hockey forward who was a member of the "Miracle on Ice" 1980 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic hockey team. Amateur career Strobel attended Rochester Mayo High School where he earned all-conference honors in 1973-74, 1974–75 and 1975–76 before moving on to the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the 1979 University of Minnesota Golden Gophers NCAA championship team. International Strobel first played for Team USA at the 1979 Ice Hockey World Championships in Moscow. Heinrich Strobel (31 May 1898 in Regensburg – 18 August 1970 in Baden-Baden) was a German musicologist. Life Strobel, the son of a wholesale merchant, attended the grammar-school in Regensburg, took part in the First World War and worked from 1918 at the Stadt-theater in Regensburg as Répétiteur. After that he studied musicology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich with Adolf Sandberger und Theodor Kroyer. In 1921 he became music critic of the ''Thüringischen Allgemeinen'' in Erfurt. In 1922 he graduated to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (D. Phil.) with his Dissertation on ''Johann Wilhelm Häßler's Life and Work.'' In 1927–1932 he was occupied as music critic with the Berlin Financial Newspaper. Scott A. Strobel (born July 4, 1964) is the provost (education), provost, Henry Ford II professor of molecular biophysics and biochemistry, and a professor of chemistry at Yale University. He was the vice provost for Science Initiatives and vice president for West Campus Planning & Program Development. Margaret Strobel (born 1946) is a retired US academic. She studied the history of African women during European colonialism and ran the Women's Studies Program at University of Illinois Chicago. Early life Margaret Ann Strobel was born February 15, 1946, in Grand Forks, North Dakota in the United States. She attended schools in Grand Forks and St. Louis, Missouri, then studied at Michigan State University on a National Merit Scholarship. Strobel took her PhD in African studies at UCLA on a Fulbright-Hays Scholarship in 1975, having decided to write her dissertation on African women's history. This joined together her research interests on both feminism and African history. Käte Strobel (23 July 1907 – 26 March 1996) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Born in Nuremberg, from 1923 to 1938 Käte Müller worked in the office of agricultural organisations in Bavaria. In 1928, she married Hans Strobel, who in 1934 was arrested for planning high treason against the Nazis. He was released from Dachau concentration camp in 1937. Käte Strobel joined the SPD in 1925, being part of the party's leadership from 1958 to 1971 while from 1949 to 1972 being a member of the German Bundestag.
