''Street Warriors'' (original title ) is a Spanish film from 1977 directed by , known for being the first film of the ("delinquency cinema") genre that was popular in Spain at the end of the 1970s and in the 1980s. The story is inspired by the adventures of the famous delinquent (1961–2003; also known as ). Plot The film is about a gang of teenage car thieves from the suburbs of Barcelona. The delinquents have various run-ins with the law and mistreat women. The main character, ''El Torete'', is 15 years old. Cast The main actors were not professional actors. Fernando Rodríguez Trueba (born 18 January 1955), known as Fernando Trueba, is a Spanish book editor, screenwriter, film director and producer. Between 1974 and 1979, he worked as a film critic for Spain's leading daily newspaper '' El País''. In 1980, he founded the monthly film magazine ''Casablanca'', which he edited and directed during its first two years. He is the author of ''Diccionario'' (Planeta 1997, Plot 2004, Galaxia Guttenberg 2006) and the editor of ''Diccionario del Jazz Latino'' (SGAE, 1998). Quinqui
Quinqui jargon is associated with '' quincalleros'' (tinkers), a semi-nomadic group who live mainly in the northern half of Spain. They prefer to be called ''mercheros''. They are reduced in number and possibly vanishing as a distinct group. The language is an old form of Castilian, ''Germanía'', with elements of Caló, a dialect of the Spanish Roma. The term comes from the word ''quincallería'' (ironmongery), from ironmongers who originated this cant as part of their trade. Because the men were frequently blamed for petty crime, in modern Spanish the word is associated with references to delinquent, petty thief, or hoodlum. Cinematography (from ancient Greek κίνημα, ''kìnema'' "movement" and γράφειν, ''gràphein'' "to write") is the art of motion picture (and more recently, electronic video camera) photography. Cinematographers use a lens to focus reflected light from objects into a real image that is transferred to some image sensor or light-sensitive material inside a movie camera. Cine Quinqui
Cine quinqui or cine kinki (meaning "delinquency cinema") is a Spanish exploitation film genre that was most popular at the end of the 1970s and in the 1980s. Features The films were centered around underclass delinquents, drugs, and love, and usually starred non-professional actors picked off the street. The most representative directors of the genre are and Eloy de la Iglesia, even if other directors such as Carlos Saura, Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón and Vicente Aranda also reproduced the ''quinqui'' social imaginaries in some of their films. Quinqui films focused on marginalized working-class adolescents in the outskirts of Spanish cities involved in small-scale robbery and street crime. They showed raw violence, explicit sex, police brutality, and commonly depicted heroin use. The genre draws inspiration from Italian neorealism and the French New Wave. Xabier Elorriaga
Xabier González Elorriaga (born April 1, 1944 in Maracaibo) is a Spanish film and TV actor, writer and director. Biography His exiled parents returned to Bilbao in Spain, in 1969 where he commenced studying Law, Engineering and the Merchant Marine but soon switched to the theatre, becoming well known as an actor in the Bilbao of the 1970s. He then moved to Barcelona where he studied journalism and worked in the university.
