Xabier Elorriaga
Xabier González Elorriaga (born April 1, 1944 in Maracaibo) is a Spanish film and TV actor, writer and director. Biography His exiled parents returned to Bilbao in Spain, in 1969 where he commenced studying Law, Engineering and the Merchant Marine but soon switched to the theatre, becoming well known as an actor in the Bilbao of the 1970s. He then moved to Barcelona where he studied journalism and worked in the university. He made his prize-winning film debut in 1975 with '' La ciudad cremada'' and he has subsequently appeared in over 50 films. ''Tesis'' ( en, Thesis) is a 1996 Spanish crime horror thriller film. It is the feature debut of director Alejandro Amenábar and was written by Amenabar and Mateo Gil. The film was made while he was studying at the Complutense University in Madrid. The film won seven 1996 Goya Awards including the award for Best Film, Best Original Screenplay and Best Director. It stars Ana Torrent, Fele Martínez and Eduardo Noriega. Plot Ángela, a university student in Madrid, is planning to write a thesis on audiovisual violence and the family. José Luis Borau
José Luis Borau Moradell (8 August 1929 – 23 November 2012) was a Spanish producer, screenwriter, writer, and film director. He won the Goya Award for Best Director in 2000 for '' Leo''. Borau was born in Zaragoza. In addition to directing, he acted in some films, including ''Everyone Off to Jail'' in 1993. He was president of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (1994–1998), and member of the jury at the 41st Berlin International Film Festival in 1991. In February 2008 he was elected to the B seat of the Real Academia Española. Borau died on 23 December 2012 aged 83 in Madrid from a throat cancer. Career Born in Zaragoza.
