Strathendrick RFC is a rugby union side based in Fintry, Stirlingshire. The 1st XV play in . History The club was founded in 1975. It has a tradition of touring; and it has toured in Kansas (1992) and Toronto (2001). They have an active mini and midi set up which works closely with the local primary schools and the local high school, Balfron High School. Ties with Aberystwyth The club plays an annual match with Aberystwyth RFC. The 1987 clash when the Welsh club took its turn to visit Strathendrick was notable. The local newspaper ''The Stirling Observer'' of 20 March 1987 noted this in the match's build-up: On Friday of this week, Strathendrick renew their association with Aberystwyth who are staying at Fintry for two days prior to the Murrayfield match. Fintry
Fintry is a small riverside village in Stirlingshire, central Scotland. Landscape The village of Fintry sits on the strath of the Endrick Water in a valley between the Campsie Fells and the Fintry Hills. Balfron High School is a secondary school situated in the village of Balfron, approximately 18 miles (29 km) west of Stirling and 16 miles (26 km) north of Glasgow. The British Newspaper Archive web site provides access to searchable digitized archives of British and Irish newspapers. It was launched in November 2011. History The British Library Newspapers section was based in Colindale in north London, until 2013, and is now divided between the St Pancras and Boston Spa sites. The library has an almost complete collection of British and Irish newspapers since 1840. Stewart Campbell (rugby Union)
Stewart Campbell (born 7 November 1972) is a former Scottish international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Caledonians (now Glasgow Warriors). He played in the Lock position. Campbell started playing amateur rugby for Strathendrick RFC. Moving through amateur clubs he played for West of Scotland, Dundee HSFP and Melrose RFC. Rory Kerr
Rory Kerr (born 20 December 1979 in Glasgow) is a former Scotland rugby union international and Glasgow Warriors player. He could play at Fullback or Wing positions. Amateur career He played for various clubs. Starting out at amateur level with his local side Strathendrick he moved on to West of Scotland. He was part of the Glasgow Thistle's squad that went to New Zealand for rugby training. After a season hampered by injury in 2004-05, Kerr left Glasgow Warriors to go to New Zealand. He returned to Scotland in 2006 and then played for amateur side Glasgow Hawks. His career went full circle by going back to his first amateur team Strathendrick in 2011 He still plays for the team. Colin Gregor
Colin Gregor (born 31 May 1981) is a retired Scottish rugby union player. He was the captain of the Scotland 7s team from 2009 to 2014. He is only the eighth player, and first Scot, to score over 1,000 points on the IRB Sevens World Series. He is one of only 13 in all forms of rugby.
