	Stjernen Stjernen Hockey is a Norwegian ice hockey team based in Fredrikstad, Norway. They currently play in the GET-ligaen. They play their home games in Stjernehallen. Their team colours are red and white. History Stjernen was founded in 1960 when the boys club "the Star" simply translated their name to Norwegian to comply with the rules of the association to begin play in the league system. After ten years of playing on an outdoor rink, or hiring ice time from local rivals Sparta Warriors, Stjernen got their own arena in 1970 when Stjernehallen was officially opened. With a good youth organisation to go with the new facilities, Stjernen soon started to climb in the leagues and in 1974 they reached the first division for the first time in club history. In 1981, the club saw its finest day beating Vålerenga Ishockey 2–1 in the best of three play-off final becoming the first team outside Oslo to hoist the cup. 	Ørjan Løvdal Ørjan Løvdal (born 24 September 1962 in Svolvær, Norway) is a Norwegian ice hockey player and coach. He spent most of his career with Stjernen Hockey of the Norwegian Elitserien. He also played for the Norwegian national ice hockey team, and participated at the Winter Olympics in 1984, 1988, and 1992. He was Norwegian champion in 1986. He was awarded Gullpucken Gullpucken ( translit. ''the Golden puck'') is awarded by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation (NIHF) to the best Norwegian ice hockey player each year. 	2016–17 GET-ligaen Season The 2016–17 GET-ligaen was the 78th season of Norway's premier ice hockey league, GET-ligaen. The regular season began play in September 2016. There were no team changes from the 2015–16 season. Participating teams } Arenas Vålerenga Ishockey played their last home game at Jordal Amfi on January 7. A new arena will be constructed at the site, planned for completion in September 2018. Vålerenga will finish the season with Furuset Forum as a temporary arena. Regular season Winter Classic An outdoor match featuring Stjernen and Sparta Warriors was played January 21, 2017. The match was played on Fredrikstad stadion and was the first major outdoor match in Norway in the 21st century. The match ended with a 3-0 victory for Sparta in front of a record audience of 12.500. There was no team changes from the 2016–17 season. Participating teams } Arenas On the season opener September 8, Vålerenga Ishockey played Storhamar Hockey in Gjøvik Olympic Cavern Hall. Since Nye Jordal Amfi will not be completed until the 2019–20 season, Vålerenga used Furuset Forum as a temporary arena the whole season. Previous to Vålerengas match against Storhamar November 13, Furuset Forums capacity was 1,450. Lillehammer returned to Håkons Hall on November 18, when they met Storhamar in front of a crowd of 10,031 people, which was new indoor attendance record for a Norwegian league match. 	List Of Stjernen Hockey Seasons Stjernen Hockey are a Norwegian ice hockey club based in Fredrikstad. They are members of the highest Norwegian ice hockey league, Eliteserien (known as GET-ligaen for sponsorship reasons). Stjernen were officially founded in 1960 as the hockey department of the sports club IL Stjernen, but their origins lie with the Stars, a boys' club that had appeared one year earlier. As of 2010, they have completed thirty-six consecutive seasons in the Eliteserien, winning over 630 regular season games and one league title. Stjernen played their first competitive match in December 1960 and entered the league system ahead of the 1961–62 season, starting out in the 3. divisjon (fourth tier). 	Johan Olsson (ice Hockey) Johan Olsson (born 20 February 1978) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward currently playing for Stjernen of Norway's GET-ligaen Olsson started his professional career with hometown club Färjestads BK and in his first season with the team, 1996/97, the team won the Swedish Championship. The following season the team won the Championship again. But Olsson did not play many games in the two season and decide to leave to club and signed with the Norwegian club Stjernen. Olsson had a really good season in Norway scoring 38 points in 44 games. That made some clubs in Sweden interested of him and he signed with second league club Mora IK in the summer of 1999. But he only stayed for one year with Mora before he signed with Tranås AIF (also a second league club), but he was successful there either and left the club after one year. 	Pål Grotnes Pål Grotnes (born 7 March 1977 in Lørenskog, Norway) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey player, who plays for Stjernen and Norway's national team as a goaltender. Playing career Grotnes was born in Norway and raised in Sweden, where his mother was from. He began playing hockey at the age of four as his brother, two years older than Grotnes, wanted to play. Prior to the 2008–09 season he signed with Stjernen in the Norwegian GET-league, after having played two seasons with Comet. In 2008 he backstopped Comet to the semifinals for the first time in franchise history. Since then he has played two seasons for the Stjernen Hockey team, which he led to the quarter-finals in 2009-10. Stjernan was defeated by Sparta. International career 2006 Grotnes is the starting goaltender for Norway in the 2006 IIHF World Championship.
