Stijn De Smet (; born 27 March 1985) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He received his first call-up to the Belgium squad in 2008 and made his debut as a starter against Morocco in a friendly at King Baudouin Stadium. Club career Cercle Brugge De Smet started his football career at amateur club Jabbeke. At the age of 12, he made moved to the youth academy of professional club Cercle Brugge, despite receiving an offer from city rivals Club Brugge. At Cercle, he progressed through the youth teams, and eventually made his senior debut in the 2003–04 season in a 0–0 home draw against Westerlo. Stephanus Johannes "Stijn" Schaars (born 11 January 1984) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Vitesse Born in Gendt, Gelderland, Schaars was first discovered by Dutch coach Theo Bos, who went on to manage Schaars' U13 Vitesse youth team. Following successful development in Vitesse's youth team, he was promoted to the main squad for the final few games of the 2002–03 Eredivisie. Stijn Claessens (born Constantijn Anton Marie Francois Claessens, June 19, 1959) is a Dutch economist who currently serves as the Head of Financial Stability Policy department of the Bank for International Settlements. He worked for fourteen years at World Bank beginning in 1987 until 2001 where he assumed various positions including that of Lead Economist. Following his tenure at the World Bank he became Professor of International Finance Policy at the University of Amsterdam where he remained for three years and still is on the faculty. Stijn Spierings (born 12 March 1996) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Toulouse, on loan from Lens. Club career Born in Alkmaar, Spierings began his youth career and professional career with his local team AZ. Stijn de Looijer (born 31 March 1992) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He formerly played for FC Den Bosch and NEC. Career De Looijer started his youth career with DAW in Schaijk before moving to the FC Den Bosch youth academy at age 10. Stijn Streuvels (3 October 1871, Heule, Kortrijk - 15 August 1969, Ingooigem, Anzegem), born Franciscus (Frank) Petrus Maria Lateur, was a Flemish Belgian writer. Biography He started writing at a very young age. He was inspired by his uncle, the celebrated poet Guido Gezelle. Until 1905 he worked as a baker at Avelghem, a village near Kortrijk. Initially his work was published in an insignificant magazine, ''De jonge Vlaming'' (The young Fleming). Soon he was discovered by the editors of a new magazine, ''Van Nu en Straks'' (From Now and Soon).
