Stijn Van Cauter ()''Van'' in isolation: . is a doom metal and ambient music producer from Belgium. He has several solo projects, including ''Beyond Black Void'', ''I Dream No More'', and ''Fall of the Grey-Winged One''. His most notable solo project is ''Until Death Overtakes Me''. Music career 1997-2001 Van Cauter had been experimenting with music production since 1997. In May 1999, he founded the doom metal project ''Macabre Destiny''. He decided to change the name of the project to ''Until Death Overtakes Me'' in February 2000. Three new members, "EDS", Jo Renette, and "PT", joined the project that same year, transforming it into a band. In 2001, Van Cauter began recording the demo ''Deep Dark Red'' by himself. He decided to abandon the use of drums and started using timpani instead. Skepticism (band)
Skepticism is a Finnish funeral doom metal band. Formed in 1991, they are regarded as one of the pioneers of the genre. History Starting out with a death metal sound on their first 7", Skepticism soon began to evolve into a more distinctive style, a combination of slow doom metal and death metal with prolific use of keyboards, especially using an organ sound. The keyboards intend to create a depressive sound, rather than the gothic sound that many metal bands using keyboards tend to focus on. Pantheist are a Belgian and British funeral doom band formed in 2000 by Kostas Panagiotou. Background Pantheist was formed in 2000 by Greek musician Kostas Panagiotou in Antwerp, Belgium. Initially a solo project, he recorded a synth ambient demo which was never released. He was later joined by Nicolas Tambuyser, who played guitar.
