He has further stated in interviews that he believes in a collaborative environment and that his door is "always open to anyone who had a design idea". Works Raised in the Chicago area, Hedlund contributed to and co-ran a small but successful minicomic during high school. He became a pen and paper RPG designer "by the age of 16" after explori ...

Sonic X-treme
''Sonic X-treme'' was a platform game developed by Sega Technical Institute from 1994 until its cancellation in 1996. ''X-treme'' featured open levels rotating around a fixed center of gravity and, like previous ''Sonic'' games, featured collectible rings and fast-paced gameplay. ''X-treme'' was conceived as a side-scrolling platform game for the Sega Genesis to succeed ''Sonic & Knuckles'' (1994). Development shifted to the 32X and then the Saturn and Windows, and the game was redesigned as a 3D platform game for the 1996 holiday season. The plan was disrupted by company politics, an unfavorable visit by Japanese Sega executives, and obstacles with the game engines planned fo ...

Comix Zone
''Comix Zone'' is a 1995 beat 'em up video game developed and published by Sega for the Genesis. It is set within the panels of a comic book with dialogue rendered within talk bubbles and sprites, and backgrounds possessing the bright colors and dynamic drawing style of superhero comics. This style is in previous video games, for example Ocean Software's '' Batman: The Caped Crusader'' in 1988, but ''Comix Zone'' stretched the idea to such an extent that Sega applied for and was granted a patent for a "videogame system for creating a simulated comic book game". The concept for the game originated from a 1992 demo video for the Commodore Amiga titled "Joe Pencil Trapped In The Comix Zone", animated by Peter Morawiec. It explores how the gameplay and the comic book elements would blend in. Plot Sketch Turner, a "starving artist" and freelance rock musician living in New York City, is working on his newest comic book, ''Comix Zone''. It is the story of the New World Empire's att ...

Sega Technical Institute
Sega Technical Institute (STI) was an American video game developer owned by Sega. Founded by the Atari veteran Mark Cerny in 1990, STI sought to combine elite Japanese developers, including the Sonic Team programmer Yuji Naka and his team, with new American talent. STI developed games for Sega Genesis, including several ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' games, before it was closed at the end of 1996. After working in Japan for Sega on games for the Master System, Cerny proposed the creation of a development studio in America, which was approved. When Naka quit Sega after the release of ''Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game), Sonic the Hedgehog'', Cerny convinced him to join STI. After completing ''Sonic the Hedgehog 2'' in 1992, STI was divided in two due to friction between the Japanese and American developers: the Japanese developed ''Sonic the Hedgehog 3'' and ''Sonic & Knuckles'' before leaving in 1994, while the Americans developed games including ''Sonic Spinball''. The failed deve ...

Justice League
The Justice League (also known as The Justice League of America) are a team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #28 (March 1960). Diegetically, these superheroes usually operate independently but occasionally assemble as a team to tackle especially formidable villains. The cast of the Justice League usually features a few highly popular characters who have their own solo books, such as Superman and Batma ...
