Steven Jeppesen
Steven Svejstrup Jeppesen (born 22 April 1984) is a Swedish professional golfer. Career Jeppesen played for the Swedish National team as an amateur and won on his first outing for the team, the Junior Open Championship at Crail, Scotland, in 2000. He also won the 2001 European Boys' Team Championship, with a team that included Gustav Adell, Robert Svensson, Johannes Andersson, Jonas Blixt and Niklas Lemke. Jeppesen finished 10th and best Swedish player at the 2003 individual European Amateur Championship at Nairn Golf Club, Scotland. Jeppesen turned professional in 2003 at the age of nineteen, and immediately qualified for the European Tour for the 2004 season via qualifying school. At the season's opening tournament on European soil in March 2004, he shared the lead going into the final round of the Madeira Island Open, but had to settle for a runner-up position one stroke behind compatriot Chris Hanell after a final round of 76. Joakim Bäckström
Joakim Bäckström (born 16 March 1978) is a Swedish professional golfer. Bäckström was born in Umeå. He turned professional in 1999. Having failed to win a place on the European Tour in 2000, Bäckström spent his early career in Sweden on the Telia Tour, where he won the 2001 Gula Sidorna Grand Open and the 2002 Sunbyholm Open. He also picked up five wins in Denmark during 2003 and 2004. Bäckström finally joined the European Tour in 2005 after coming through the 2004 qualifying school final stage, and won the Aa St Omer Open during his rookie season. However he has struggled to establish himself after that, never finishing inside the top 100 on the Order of Merit, and lost his tour card at the end of 2008. Jacob Glennemo
Jacob Glennemo (born 25 May 1987) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Challenge Tour between 2013 and 2020. He won the 2014 Nordic Golf League Order of Merit. Professional career Glennemo turned professional in 2007 and joined the Nordic Golf League. He recorded his maiden NGL victory at the 2012 Landskrona Masters and finished 5th in the season rankings, to qualify for the Challenge Tour. As a Challenge Tour rookie in 2013 he made 7 cuts in 16 starts. He was also runner-up at the Black Mountain Invitational in Thailand behind Johan Edfors, and made his first cut on the European Tour, at the Lyoness Open in France. In 2014, he won three tournaments and topped the Nordic Golf League Order of Merit, to again secure a Challenge Tour card. In 2016 he was tied 7th at the Najeti Open in France. Kristoffer Broberg
Kristoffer Per Thomas Broberg (born 1 August 1986) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Professional career Broberg started his professional career in 2010, winning twice on the Swedish mini tour. The following two years he won four events on the Nordic Golf League. He qualified to play on the Challenge Tour in 2012. He won the second event he played in, the Finnish Challenge on 5 August. He won again the next week at the Norwegian Challenge. Broberg won for a third time that month at the Rolex Trophy to earn an instant promotion to the European Tour; he was the fastest player ever to achieve this having played just five events in the season. The victories helped Broberg shoot up the Official World Golf Ranking from 1,109th to 173rd, and he ended the year ranked 79th after finishing runner-up at the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Gevalia Open
The Gevalia Open was a golf tournament held at Gävle Golf Club in Gävle, Sweden from 1978. It featured on the Swedish Golf Tour from its inception in 1984 and on the Challenge Tour in 1990 and 1991. It was re-named the Gefle Open in 1991, using the archaic spelling of Gävle. In 2011 European Tour winner Peter Hedblom, the most successful player to represent Gävle Golf Club, hosted the tournament. The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. Since 1986, the tournament has been open to foreign players. The tournament was part of the Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005. Since 1984, when tournament professionals had been dominating the event for several years, there is also a Swedish PGA Club Pro Championship, limited to club professionals in Sweden, with separate competitions for men, women and senior men categories. The Nordic Golf League is one of the four PGA European Tour-recognised third-tier men's professional golf tours that are known as the Satellite Tours. The top five players on the rankings list at the end of each season earn a place on the second tier Challenge Tour for the following year. Rhys Davies (golfer)
Rhys Davies (born 28 May 1985) is a Welsh professional golfer. Davies was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, but has lived in Wales for the majority of his life. He played collegiate golf in the United States at East Tennessee State University where he won ten times and was a first team All-American in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He played on two Walker Cup teams (2005 and 2007), and for Europe in four Palmer Cup teams (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007). Davies was second in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (May 2007), before turning pro in September 2007. Davies successfully came through the Asian Tour's qualifying school, allowing him to play on that tour for the 2008 season.
