Steven Feifke
Steven Feifke (born June 21, 1991) is an American jazz pianist, composer, orchestrator, and arranger. Early life and education Feifke was born in Lexington, Massachusetts. He attended Lexington High School and the New England Conservatory of Music Preparatory School. He attended NYU where he received a degree in Jazz Studies and Economics. He obtained a Master of Music in Jazz Composition from the Manhattan School of Music. Musical career He has played with Chad Lefkowitz Brown, Steve Tyrell, Santino Fontana, Randy Brecker, Benny Benack III, Bryan Carter, and Alexa Tarantino. Feifke lectured on orchestration and harmony at Yale University. He developed a curriculum which integrated the American civil rights movement with jazz pedagogy for Arts Mid-Hudson. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, complex chords, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals. As jazz spread around the world, it drew on national, regional, and local musical cultures, which gave rise to different styles. Ravinia Festival
Ravinia Festival is an outdoor music venue in Highland Park, Illinois. It hosts a series of outdoor concerts and performances every summer from June to September. The first orchestra to perform at Ravinia Festival was the New York Philharmonic under Walter Damrosch on June 17, 1905, with the ''Chicago Tribune'' praising its "musical entertainment so satisfying in quality and so delightful in environment." It has been the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) since 1936. ''Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee'' is an American talk-show web series directed and hosted by comedian Jerry Seinfeld. The series premiered on digital network Crackle on July 19, 2012. As of May 2015, it had been streamed nearly 100 million times. The series moved to Netflix in 2018 for the debut of its tenth season. Its eleventh season premiered on July 19, 2019. Jimmy Macbride (born May 10, 1991) is an American jazz drummer and composer. He is the older brother of jazz pianist, composer and film maker Alma Macbride. Biography Raised in West Hartford, Connecticut, Macbride grew up in an artistic family—his father a composer of classical music and his mother a visual artist. He developed an early interest in jazz from listening to his parents' cassettes of Frank Sinatra and began to perform professionally while in the third grade.
