Steinar Ofsdal
Steinar Ofsdal (born 4 October 1948) is a Norwegian composer and flutist. Career Ofsdal has since 1967 performed on numerous stages in Norway, and worldwide in different settings. He has performed alone or within one of his many bands, and is also known as one of the members of the folk group Bukkene Bruse, including Annbjørg Lien, Arve Moen Bergset and Bjørn Ole Rasch. He has written several compositions for his own concert use, and music for theater, film, television and radio. Ofsdal won the Spellemannprisen 1983 in the Open class for the album ''Hat Trick'' and Spellemannprisen 1989 with Per Midtstigen in the class Folk / Old Norwegian Folk Dance for the album ''Sjøfløyta''. Bukkene Bruse was awarded Spellemannprisen 1993 in the class Children's music. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Eivind Groven
Eivind Groven (8 October 1901 – 8 February 1977) was a Norwegian composer and music-theorist. He was from traditional region of Vest-Telemark and had a background in the folk music of the area. Biography Groven was born in the village of Lårdal in Telemark, Norway. Groven's rural background was filled with traditional music. He came from a family of talented musicians and artists, prominent in his home area. His father, Olav Åsmundsson Gjøitil (1865–1947) was the youngest of eight siblings. Two of his father's brothers played the hardanger fiddle. His mother, Aslaug Rikardsdotter Berge (1863–1946), was the youngest daughter of Rikard Aslaksson Berge, known for preserving a great amount of old tunes, religious songs and dance-tunes and a friend of Myllarguten's. Birgitte Grimstad
Birgitte Grimstad (born 15 December 1935) is a Danish-born Norwegian singer, guitarist, composer and writer. Personal life Grimstad was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of Aksel Schiøtz and Gerd Haugsted. She was married to ambassador Per Øystein Grimstad from 1958 to 1988. Career Grimstad studied theatre and mass media at the University of Minnesota, United States. She moved to Norway in 1959, and produced television shows for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), including children's programs and shows with performers such as Alf Prøysen and Lalla Carlsen. Rita Eriksen (born May 26, 1966 in Sola, Norway) is a Norwegian singer, as solo artist and in the 1990s, as part of the Norwegian singing duo Eriksen with her sibling guitarist and singer Frank Eriksen. Jan Eggum
Jan Eggum (born 8 December 1951) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter. He has been characterized as a "face for the melancholy", and the themes in his songs are often broken hearts, loneliness, and sorrow. Sometimes his lyrics include social criticism, but he also shows trivial and funny sides of himself. Career Eggum was born in Bergen, but started as a pub singer in London, and made his living for two years writing songs in English. One of his most famous songs – "En natt forbi" ("A night is over") – was originally written in English, with the title "Alone, Awake". He got a record contract in 1975 with the Norwegian record company CBS, and recorded his debut album "Trubadur" that autumn. Alf Cranner
Alf Cranner (25 October 1936 – 3 March 2020) was a major Norwegian folk singer, lyricist and painter, considered by many to be the pioneer of the Norwegian folk music wave of the 1960s. Knut Buen (born 31 October 1948) is a Norwegian fiddler, composer, folklorist and publisher. He was born in Kongsberg; the son of folk musician Anders Buen and Margit Tjønn, and is brother of Hauk Buen, Agnes Buen Garnås and the artist Kari Buen. Kari Bremnes (born 9 December 1956) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. She got an MA in language, literature, history and theatre studies from the University of Oslo, and worked as a journalist for several years before deciding to dedicate herself to music full-time.
