Stefan Ilsanker (footballer)
Stefan Ilsanker (born 18 May 1989) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for club Genoa and the Austria national team. Ilsanker has represented his country at the Under-19 European Championship and was also a member of the under-21 team. He has been a full senior international since 2014. Club career Ilsanker began his career in the youth squad of 1. Halleiner SK as goalkeeper but soon switched into the midfield. In 2005, he signed with Red Bull Salzburg, where he played in the ''Red Bull Juniors'' team. On 4 April 2009, Ilsanker was called up to the first team bench for a league game. His first game for Red Bull Salzburg was a national cup match on 15 August 2009. The 2008–09 Austrian Football First League was the 35th season of second-level football in Austria, since its introduction in 1974. SC Wiener Neustadt, which bought the league license of SC Schwanenstadt along with most of their players at the end of the 2007–08 season due to the latter's insolvency, won the First League championship and were promoted to the 2009–10 Bundesliga. The 2006–07 Austrian First League (known as the Erste Liga due to sponsorship) was the 33rd Second division season. In this season, the league was expanded to 12 teams from the previous season's number of 10 teams. This meant that the previous Promotion/relegation play-off system no longer existed and all three Regionalliga Champions would now be automatically promoted while the bottom three finishers in the First League would now be relegated directly as well. Herbert Ilsanker (born 24 May 1967) is an Austrian former professional football goalkeeper. Since 2005, he has been goalkeeper coach of FC Red Bull Salzburg. Career He started his career with his local club SK Hallein. Afterwards he was transferred to SV Austria Salzburg where he spent most of his active career (1993–1998).
