2006–07 Austrian Football First League
The 2006–07 Austrian First League (known as the Erste Liga due to sponsorship) was the 33rd Second division season. In this season, the league was expanded to 12 teams from the previous season's number of 10 teams. This meant that the previous Promotion/relegation play-off system no longer existed and all three Regionalliga Champions would now be automatically promoted while the bottom three finishers in the First League would now be relegated directly as well. Games for this season began on the 1 August 2006 and concluded on the 25 May 2007 with the Champions LASK Linz winning the League by a comfortable 13 points over second placed, SC Schwanenstadt. Austrian Football First League
The Austrian Football Second League (german: 2. Liga) is the second-highest professional division in Austrian football. It was formerly called the First League (''Erste Liga''), from 2002 to 2018. The division currently contains 16 teams, and the champion of the league is promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga. The three last placed teams are directly relegated from the Second League into the regional leagues. The Austrian Football Second Bundesliga is currently known as ''HPYBET 2. liga'' for sponsorship reasons. The 2007–08 Austrian Football Bundesliga was the 96th season of top-tier football in Austria. The competition is officially called ''T-Mobile Bundesliga'', named after the Austrian branch of German mobile phone company T-Mobile. Linzer Stadion
Linzer Stadion was a multi-purpose stadium, in Linz, Austria. Originally built in 1952, the stadium was last modified in 2012 and now has a capacity of 21,005. The 2012 modifications included the installation of rail seats for safe standing. The stadium was opened on 28 July 1952, on the grounds of the former Froschberg-Brickworks. The stadium is also known as "Auf der Gugl", the name of the hill on which it is situated. It was used for football matches and hosted most matches of FC Blau-Weiß Linz and the top matches of LASK Linz. In July 2020, LASK presented their plans to build a new stadium on the site of the old stadium, in which the groundbreaking should take place in early 2021. DSV Leoben is an Austrian association football club based in Leoben. It was founded in 1928. They play at the Donawitz Stadium. History WSV Donawitz The club was founded on 1 February 1928 opgericht as ''Werkssportverein Donawitz'', playing in green-white colours. They played their first season at the top Styrian league in 1930/31, playing against the likes of SK Sturm Graz, Grazer AK, Grazer SC and Kapfenberger SC. WSV clinched the title in 1939 but subsequently lost the playoffs for promotion to the Gauliga Ost after losing to FC Wien, Linzer ASK and WSV BU Neunkirchen.
