Steel Taipan is a Steel roller coaster, steel launched roller coaster at Dreamworld (Australia), Dreamworld in Coomera, Queensland, Australia. ''Steel Taipan'' serves as a direct replacement to the former Thunder River Rapids Ride. The roller coaster is the first triple-launched coaster in the Southern Hemisphere, and is named after the deadly Taipan family of snakes native to Australia. History Steel Taipan was first announced on August 23, 2019, alongside the announcement of the $7,000,000 ''Fully 6'' body slide complex in the adjacent WhiteWater World. Steel Taipan, then unnamed, was confirmed to be a near-clone of Mack's popular Blue Fire launched coaster model, except with a unique backwards portion and swing launch section as well as a spinning cart on the back row. Gold Rush Country
The Gold Rush Country (a.k.a. Town of Gold Rush or simply Gold Rush) is a themed land at the Dreamworld (Australia), Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. History The Gold Rush Country opened on 11 December 1986. The area featured the Eureka Mountain Mine Ride and the Thunder River Rapids Ride. In 2006, the Eureka Mountain Mine Ride was decommissioned due to safety concerns. In the middle of 2011, Gold Rush Country was refurbished with shops being relocated around the area in preparation for its conversion into the ''Town of Gold Rush''. On 17 September 2011, ''Gold Rush Country'' officially reopened as the ''Town of Gold Rush'' to match ''BuzzSaws backstory. Thunder River Rapids Ride
The Thunder River Rapids Ride was a river rapid type water ride located in the Town of Gold Rush section of the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. After four riders were killed on it in late October 2016, the ride was closed. On 9 November 2016, Ardent Leisures' CEO announced that the ride would not reopen, and was to be demolished. In October 2017, police recommended that no criminal charges be laid against any person in relation to the deaths. Dreamworld Express
The Dreamworld Express is a narrow gauge railway located at the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. History The Dreamworld Express opened with Dreamworld on 15 December 1981, as the ''Cannonball Express''. At the time, the railway only featured a single stop in Main Street. A steam locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1917 was purchased and of track was said to have been laid to develop the ride. This figure must relate to the quantity of rail used as reference to maps show that the line is only about in length. Dreamworld is a theme park and zoo situated on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It is Australia's biggest theme park with over 40 rides and attractions. A brake run on a roller coaster is any section of track meant to slow or stop a roller coaster train. Brake runs may be located anywhere along the circuit of a coaster and may be designed to bring the train to a complete halt or to simply adjust the train's speed. BuzzSaw (roller Coaster)
BuzzSaw was a Maurer AG SkyLoop roller coaster located within the Gold Rush Country section of the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast of Australia. The ride began operation on 17 September 2011 as part of Dreamworld's 30th birthday celebrations. The ride was permanently closed on 31 August 2021, due to Dreamworld prioritising future development plans. BuzzSaw was one of Dreamworld's seven thrill rides and had a track length of .
