New York State Route 242 (NY 242) is a state highway that runs across Cattaraugus County, New York, in the United States. Although signed as an east–west route, it takes a more northeast–southwest course across the county from NY 394 near the hamlet of Randolph in the town of Coldspring to NY 16 in Machias. The western end between Randolph and Little Valley was the western half of the short-lived New York State Route 17H. The eastern half of NY 17H was the southern end of NY 353 from Little Valley to Salamanca. Route description NY 242 begins at an intersection with NY 394 just north of Stillson Pond in Coldspring. U.S. Route 191 (US 191) is a spur of U.S. Route 91 that has two branches. The southern branch runs for from Douglas, Arizona on the Mexican border to the southern part of Yellowstone National Park. The northern branch runs for from the northern part of Yellowstone National Park to Loring, Montana, at the Canada–US border. Unnumbered roads within Yellowstone National Park connect the two branches. The highway passes through the states of Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. The highway was designated in 1926 and its routing has changed drastically through the years. The modern US 191 bears almost no resemblance to the original route, which was primarily in the state of Idaho. Most of the current route of US 191 was formed in 1981. Missouri Route 242, also known as Horseshoe Bend Parkway, is a short highway in central Missouri found within Lake Ozark. The highway runs from the US 54 expressway junction near Osage Beach in Miller County in the east to Route MM (near the Community Toll Bridge) in Camden County. History Plans to build Route 242 existed since 2007. Construction for the project did not start at the time due to lack of funding. The project broke ground on January 18, 2011. Minnesota State Highway 242 was a highway in Minnesota. It connected U.S. Highway 10 and Minnesota State Highway 47 near Coon Rapids with Minnesota State Highway 65 in Blaine. It has been classified by the Metropolitan Council as a primary arterial street. Route description Highway 242 originally served as an east–west route between the cities of Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Blaine. The route was legally defined as Route 242 in the Minnesota Statutes. History Highway 242 was authorized on July 1, 1949 and was paved when it was marked. The highway used to run to downtown Anoka, but in 1979 it was truncated at its easternmost intersection with U.S. Highway 10. Maryland Route 242 (MD 242) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Colton Point Road, the state highway runs from Coltons Point north to MD 5 in Morganza.
