''SremmLife 2'' (sometimes stylized as ''SremmLife II'') is the second studio album by American hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd. It was released on August 12, 2016, by Ear Drummer Records and Interscope Records. The album serves as a sequel to their previous studio effort, ''SremmLife'' (2015). It features guest appearances from Kodak Black, Gucci Mane, Juicy J, Lil Jon and Bobo Swae. ''SremmLife 2'' was supported by four singles: " By Chance", " Look Alive", "Black Beatles" and " Swang". The album debuted at number seven on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and later reached number four. It received generally positive reviews from critics. Rae Sremmurd ( ; "Drummers Ear" spelled backwards) is an American hip hop duo originating from Tupelo, Mississippi, formed by two brothers, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee. In 2013, they signed a record deal with Mike Will Made It's EarDrummers imprint. In January 2015, the duo released their debut album, ''SremmLife'', which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In August 2016, the duo released their second album, '' SremmLife 2''. During that same year, the duo also created their own record label, called SremmLife Crew Records. Urban contemporary music, also known as urban music, hip hop, urban pop, or just simply urban, is a music radio format. The term was coined by New York radio DJ Frankie Crocker in the early to mid-1970s as a synonym for Black music.
