Spey Valley United F.C.
Spey Valley United are a Scottish football club from the village of Cromdale, Speyside. Members of the North Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association, they currently play in the North Second Division but are in abeyance during the 2021–22 season due to organisational difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in Scotland. Cromdale
Cromdale ( gd, Cromdhail, from ''crom'' 'crooked' and ''dal'' 'valley, dale') is a village in Strathspey, in the Highland council area of Scotland, and one of the ancient parishes which formed the combined ecclesiastical (later civil) parish of Cromdale, Inverallan and Advie in Morayshire. The present small, growing village of Cromdale lies on either side of where the A95 road crosses Cromdale Burn, between Grantown-on-Spey and Aberlour; this bridge is about south of the confluence of the burn with the River Spey. The village was within Inverness-shire until 1869, when it was moved by the Inverness and Elgin County Boundaries Act 1870 to the Morayshire. Strathspey, Scotland
Strathspey ( gd, Srath Spè, ) is the region around the strath of the River Spey, Scotland, split between the Moray council area and the Badenoch and Strathspey committee area of Highland. The term Strathspey usually refers to the upper part of the strath from the source of the Spey down to the capital, Grantown-on-Spey, whereas the anglicised form, ''Speyside'', refers to the area from Grantown-on-Spey to the mouth of the river at Spey Bay. Recently there has been some controversy over attempts to anglicise the name into ''Spey Valley''. The Scottish Junior Football Association, North Region is one of the two regions of the Scottish Junior Football Association. Its area covers Grampian and Moray as well as part of the Highland and Angus council areas – from Montrose in the south to Nairn in the west. The North Region features three region-wide divisions, having reverted from the previous setup of two regional divisions below the North Superleague used for five seasons prior to 2018. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. Forres
Forres (; gd, Farrais) is a town and former royal burgh in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast, approximately northeast of Inverness and west of Elgin. Scottish Junior Football North Super League
The North Region Junior Football League is a football league based in the north east of Scotland. The league sits at levels 6–7 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Highland Football League. Geographically, the league covers Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. The winners take part in an end of season promotion play-off with the Midlands Football League and North Caledonian Football League champions, subject to clubs meeting the required licensing criteria. Scottish Junior Football North Division One
The Scottish Junior Football North Division One known as the McBookie.com First Division was the second tier of the North Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association. Clubs at the end of the season would be promoted to the North Superleague. From 2011, the division comprised two West and East sections running in parallel. Two years later the North Division Two, which clubs had previously been relegated into, was abolished as part of this change. From the 2016–17 season, the runners-up in each section played off for the right to meet the third-bottom club in the North Superleague for an extra promotion/relegation spot.
