The Spanish Olympic Committee ( es, Comité Olímpico Español, COE) is responsible body for Spain's participation in the Olympic Games. Members of the committee are 35 sports federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and 23 members. History The Spanish Olympic Committee was founded on November 23, 1912, and refounded on January 11, 1924, in Barcelona. María de la Soledad Casado Estupiñán (born 11 October 1956) is a Spanish sports administrator and triathlete. She has been President of the International Triathlon Union since 2008, and as of 2017 she is the only female Spanish member of the International Olympic Committee.
