Spain In The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Spain participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 which took place on 24 November 2019 in Gliwice, Poland. The Spanish broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) organised an internal selection to select the Spanish entry. Background Prior to the 2019 Contest, Spain had participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in four consecutive years since its debut in the inaugural Contest, having won the contest on their second appearance with the song "Antes muerta que sencilla", performed by María Isabel. Spain came second twice, in both 2003 and , and the remaining Spanish entrant finished in fourth position in . The Spanish broadcaster TVE did not return to the contest in , saying that "the Junior Eurovision promotes stereotypes we do not share". Melani García (born 10 June 2007) is a Spanish singer. She won ''La Voz Kids'' in 2018 and represented Spain at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 held on 24 November in Gliwice, Poland with the song "Marte", placing third. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 was the seventeenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, organised by Telewizja Polska (TVP) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). It was held on 24 November 2019, at the Gliwice Arena in Gliwice, Poland, following the country's victory at the contest in Minsk, Belarus, with the song "Anyone I Want to Be", performed by Roksana Węgiel. It was the first time Poland had hosted the contest, as well as the first Eurovision event to be held in the country since the Eurovision Young Dancers 2013. Nineteen countries participated in the contest, with taking part for the first time since , while and did not return to the contest after having participated in 2018. Gliwice (; german: Gleiwitz) is a city in Upper Silesia, in southern Poland. The city is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Kłodnica river (a tributary of the Oder). "Antes muerta que sencilla" (English: "I'd rather be dead than plain") is a song composed and written by Spanish singer María Isabel in 2004, when she was 9 years old. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the second edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest for young singers aged eight to fifteen. It was held on 20 November 2004, in Håkons Hall, Lillehammer, Norway and lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes.
