''Space Tanks – Gladiatoren im All'' is an artillery strategy game developed by the German-based YawThrust Software Labs. (since 2004 Black Blowfish - Interactive Imbeciles) and published by Pepper Games in Summer 2003, and re-Released in 2006 by Alten8. The game pits players against one another or against the computer, using tanks in a futuristic setting. Assuming the role of a tank commander on a tiny planet, the player attempts to win each stage by knocking the opposing player off their planet. Gameplay ''Space Tanks'' is an artillery game similar to Gravity Wars with a free moving mouse cursor for aiming, selecting tanks, and using the weapon shop. This interface is also used for looking left or right, up and down. An inventory on the heads-up display stores items and weapons. Alten8
Alten8 Ltd. was a British video game developer and video game publisher, publisher. It produced both licensed retro games and current format video games, including the emulation code for Commodore 64, C64 titles on Nintendo's Virtual Console service. Alten8 ceased trading in December 2010. History The company was formed by Paul Andrews after his involvement with the website Retro-Trader, which led him to be commissioned to gather retro game licenses for a plug-into-TV video game console using games such as ''Ant Attack'' (originally on the ZX Spectrum). When this was never realised he formed Alten8 to make use of the gathered licenses and expanded its remit, gaining Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Wii and Xbox 360 developer status. Trial and error is a fundamental method of problem-solving characterized by repeated, varied attempts which are continued until success, or until the practicer stops trying. According to W.H. Thorpe, the term was devised by C. Lloyd Morgan (1852–1936) after trying out similar phrases "trial and failure" and "trial and practice". Under Morgan's Canon, animal behaviour should be explained in the simplest possible way. Where behavior seems to imply higher mental processes, it might be explained by trial-and-error learning. An example is a skillful way in which his terrier Tony opened the garden gate, easily misunderstood as an insightful act by someone seeing the final behavior.
