South Korea National Cricket Team
The South Korea national cricket team is the team that represents South Korea in international cricket. It is governed by the Korea Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and an associate member in June 2017. Their first international appearance to date was in the ICC East Asia/Pacific 8s tournament in Perth in 2002, where they came fourth in a tournament that also involved Japan, Indonesia and an Australian Aborigines team. They also competed in 2011 east Asia Pacific tournament. In 2013 Arirang TV broadcast a documentary ''Bowling for Gold'' in their programme ''Arirang Prime'' on the Korean national cricket team as the 2014 Asian Games approached. Korea Cricket Association
Korea Cricket Association (Korean: 대한크리켓협회) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in South Korea. The KCA operates Korean national team and Korean women's national team. Its current headquarters is located in Seoul, South Korea. Korea Cricket Association is South Korea's representative at the International Cricket Council and is an associate member and has been a member of that body since 2001 initially as an affiliate member. It is also a member of the East Asia-Pacific Cricket Council. The 2014 Asian Games featured cricket for both the men's and the women's event and for that purpose a cricket facility was built known as Yeonhui Cricket Ground for the cricket matches to be played in the games. 2020 ICC World Twenty20
The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the seventh ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament, with the matches played in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from 17 October to 14 November 2021. The West Indies were the defending champions, but were eventually eliminated in the Super 12 stage. Originally the event was scheduled to be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November 2020, but in July 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that this tournament had been postponed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Arirang International Broadcasting is a South Korean-based broadcasting company operated by the International Broadcasting Exchange Foundation. It began as a cable TV service in South Korea on February 3, 1997, and opened Korea's first overseas satellite broadcasting in 1999 in the Asia-Pacific region. Japan Cricket Association, a Japanese non-profit organization, is the governing body for cricket in Japan. It was originally formed in 1984 and registered as NPO in 2001. Yeonhui Cricket Ground
Yeonhui Cricket Ground is a cricket stadium in Incheon, South Korea built for Cricket at the 2014 Asian Games. The 2014 Asian Games featured cricket for both the men's and the women's event and this ground was used for the cricket matches that were played in the games. It has been reported that the crowd capacity of this ground is 3000. This was the first cricket stadium in South Korea. In 2018, it hosted first ever T20I match between South Korea and China. Cricket was one of the 36 sports at 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, South Korea from 20 September to 3 October 2014. Both Men's and Women's tournaments were held in the event. Top Asian associate members and full members took part at the 2014 Asian Games. The matches were played under Twenty20 format.
