Korea Cricket Association
Korea Cricket Association (Korean: 대한크리켓협회) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in South Korea. The KCA operates Korean national team and Korean women's national team. Its current headquarters is located in Seoul, South Korea. Korea Cricket Association is South Korea's representative at the International Cricket Council and is an associate member and has been a member of that body since 2001 initially as an affiliate member. It is also a member of the East Asia-Pacific Cricket Council. The 2014 Asian Games featured cricket for both the men's and the women's event and for that purpose a cricket facility was built known as Yeonhui Cricket Ground for the cricket matches to be played in the games. It has been reported that the crowd capacity of this ground will be 2,352. This is the first cricket stadium in South Korea. Korea
Korea ( ko, 한국, or , ) is a peninsular region in East Asia. ICC East Asia-Pacific
ICC East Asia-Pacific is the International Cricket Council region responsible for administration of the sport of cricket in East Asia and the Pacific area. The region was founded in 1996 with a regional office established in 1999. The area covered by the region includes two Test cricket, Test nations, four ICC associate members and five ICC affiliate nations. The region is headed by the Regional Development Manager, Andrew Faichney, based in Australia at the offices of Cricket Australia. The region is supported by the Australia national cricket team, Australian and New Zealand national cricket team, New Zealand cricket team and these are the only official Test cricket members in the region. South Korea National Women's Cricket Team
The South Korea national women's cricket team is the team that represents the country of South Korea in international women's cricket. They made their international debut in the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea in September 2014. In 2017, the South Korean team participated in the Women's East Asia Cup in Hong Kong. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between South Korea women and other ICC members after 1 July 2018 will be a full WT20I. Women's Twenty20 International
Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) is the shortest form of women's international cricket. A women's Twenty20 International is a 20 overs-per-side cricket match between two of the International Cricket Council (ICC) members. The first Twenty20 International match was held in August 2004 between England and New Zealand, six months before the first Twenty20 International match was played between two men's teams. The ICC Women's World Twenty20, the highest-level event in the format, was first held in 2009. In April 2018, the ICC granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between two international sides after 1 July 2018 will be a full WT20I. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. The shortened format was initially introduced to bolster crowds for the domestic game, and was not intended to be played internationally, but the first Twenty20 International took place on 17 February 2005 when Australia defeated New Zealand, and the first tournament was played two years later, with the introduction of the ICC T20 World Cup. Sano International Cricket Ground
Sano Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Sano, Japan. The ground is one of the few facilities in Japan that is used for cricket. The pitch is made of plastic carpet and is in pretty good condition. The ground is also used for baseball. The stadium is the headquarters of the Japan Cricket Association and has hosted a number of cricket games between international teams. On March 22, 2016, Sano City Council announced that Tanuma High School Ground would become the Sano International Cricket Ground which will become Japan's first dedicated cricketing venue built for purpose which no longer has to compete with other sports for usage. The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Cricket was one of the 36 sports at 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, South Korea from 20 September to 3 October 2014. Both Men's and Women's tournaments were held in the event. Top Asian associate members and full members took part at the 2014 Asian Games. The matches were played under Twenty20 format.
