Sonna was an American post-rock band from Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The band formed in 1998, and released two full-length albums on label Temporary Residence, of which guitarist Jeremy deVine is the owner. In 2016, Temporary Residence issued a compilation album consisting of the band's non-album output. Sunna (band)
Sunna are a hard rock and industrial rock band from Bristol, England. They released their third album, '' After the Third Pin'' on 3 October 2011. History The band toured with VAST and A Perfect Circle in 2000, as well as The Smashing Pumpkins on their final European tour. They released their debut album '' One Minute Science'' on Massive Attack's Melankolic label that year, along with the singles " O.D" and "Power Struggle". The latter single appeared in the movie ''Hollow Man''. The third single from ''One Minute Science'', " I'm Not Trading", was released in early 2001. Richie Mills, their drummer, left the band in spring of 2001; he would have been replaced by Mark Richardson of Skunk Anansie, but Richardson joined Feeder instead following the death of that band's drummer Jon Lee. Travels in Constants is a limited edition collection of 25 EPs issued by American record label Temporary Residence Limited. The label issued one CD from each artist involved in the project, which ran from 1999 until 2015. A large number of the artists involved have been signed to Temporary Residence for releases outside of the series (Eluvium, Explosions in the Sky, Mono) whilst some haven't had any other releases on the label (Mogwai, Songs: Ohia), and some artists on Temporary Residence have not released anything for the series. {, class="wikitable" ! # ! Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s.
