Somerset County Technology Center (SCTC) is a public vocational-technical school just outside Somerset, Pennsylvania. SCTC has eight sending high schools, in which students attend the center for one-half of the day and their home school for the other one half. It also offers adult education opportunities, both on- and off-site, to county residents. High School Opportunities Presently, SCTC has eight sending school districts, which sends Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors from their respective High Schools to the center for one-half day to participate in career workshops. Somerset Township is a township in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 12,165 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Metropolitan Statistical Area and encompasses the census-designated place (CDP) of Friedens. History Somerset Township was formed from the northern portion of Milford Township and a southern portion of Quemahoning Township in 1796. Jefferson Township was separated from Somerset Township in 1847. Other townships and boroughs were also separated, reducing the township to its current boundaries. The Walter's Mill Bridge and Daniel B. Zimmerman Mansion are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Shade-Central City School District
The Shade-Central School District is a public school district located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. It is eponymous, serving the borough of Central City and the Township of Shade. School complex There is the Shade Junior/Senior High School (Grades 7–12) and the Cairnbrook Elementary School (Grades K-6).
