Soma Recordings
Soma Quality Recordings (or simply Soma Records) is an independent record label based in Glasgow, Scotland. It was co-founded in 1991 by the electronic music duo Slam, Dave Clarke and Glenn Gibbons. The label is known for releasing early works of Slam, Jeff Mills, Silicone Soul’s ''″Right On Right On″'', Funk D’Void, Felix da Housecat’s early track ″''Clashback″'', the original vinyl version of Daft Punk's track ''″Da Funk″'' and much more. History The origin of the label goes back to 1991 when there was very much a DIY ethos back at the tail end of the 80s. Vector Lovers
Vector Lovers is the moniker used by British electronic music producer Martin Wheeler. Wheeler, as described by Soma Records (his current label) is a "computer nerd" and "80s-obsessed knob-twiddler" and creates music which falls into the intelligent dance music (IDM) and electro genres. His music has been compared to and is influenced by such acts as Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. As Vector Lovers, Wheeler has released several singles and EPs, as well as four albums. Early Vector Lovers' releases were through his own Iwari record label (one very early release was made as 'Balloon' - the name was changed to Vector Lovers when he discovered that there already was a band called Balloon). Music has also been released under the names Rosenbaum and Badly Born Droid. Roderick Julian Modell is an American electronic music producer, DJ and musician from Port Huron, Michigan, known professionally as Deepchord (pronunciation: iːpkɔːrd sometimes stylized as DeepChord). Modell was born on July 22, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan. He worked with Mike Schommer to produce music under the Deepchord moniker as well as co-founded an eponymous record label in Detroit during the mid-1990s. However, currently the project name of Deepchord represents only Modell, who is using a number of aliases besides. The musical style of Deepchord is similar to both the minimal Berlin sound of artists like Basic Channel and the techno tradition of Detroit. Fabric (club)
Fabric (stylized as fabric) is a nightclub in Farringdon, London, England. Founded in 1999 on Charterhouse Street opposite Smithfield Market, the club was voted World Number 1 Club in DJ Magazine's "Top 100 Clubs Poll" in 2007 and 2008 and ranked World Number 2 in 2009, 2010 and 2017. Fabric was closed down and its licence was revoked by Islington Council in 2016, after two drug-related deaths at the club. Following a campaign to save the club it was permitted to be reopened with increased security and restrictions.
