Slávik Awards
Slávik () was a Slovak music poll and award established by the company Forza—which organizes the Miss Slovakia beauty pageant—in 1998, as a successor to Czechoslovakia's Zlatý slavík, which ran from 1962 until 1991. The annual event was broadcast live through the television channels Markíza from 1998 to 2010 and TV JOJ from 2011 until 2012. Forza dissolved the event a year later due to declining interest. In the poll's previous years, victory had been conditional on receiving at least 34,000 votes, which in the final years had dropped to 5,000. Czechia, formerly part of Czechoslovakia, has its own music award, known as Český slavík (). Winners Major awards Leaders With eight awards within the major categories, Elán was the most successful band in the poll's history, followed by Desmod and Zuzana Smatanová Zuzana Smatanová (born 14 June 1984 Súľov-Hradná) is a Slovaks, Slovak pop-rock singer. Taktici
Taktici is a Slovak music group, established in 1977. In 1979 they defected to the US and in 1982 they went their separate ways. History Taktici started their musical career in Bratislava's famous V-klub in 1970s. They played original melodic songs with controversial Slovak lyrics. In just three years from 1977-1979 they produced songs that withstood the advance of time and generations. Whats amazing is that even though their songs were played on the radio they’ve never been released on records. What’s even more incredible is that some songs that haven’t been played anywhere became cult hits. In 1979 they were invited to UK to take part in Gary Glitter show. When the communist government of Czechoslovakia cancelled their tour, three members Vlado Kolenič, Július Mikeš, and Štefan Peller decided to immigrate to USA. Everything associated with TAKTICI was banned. Songs were taken off the radio and anyone connected with the band was interrogated. After fall of the Berl ...
