Slave To The Music (Twenty 4 Seven Song)
"Slave to the Music" is a song by Dutch Eurodance group Twenty 4 Seven, released on 13 August 1993, as the third single and first song from their second studio album, '' Slave to the Music'' (1994). The song was written by the group with co-producer Ruud van Rijen and peaked within the top 10 in at least eight countries. It was a number-one hit in Zimbabwe and peaked at number two in Australia. Chart performance "Slave to the Music" was a massive hit on several continents, remaining one of the group's most successful songs to date. In Europe, it entered the top 10 in Denmark (4), Finland (7), Germany (8), the Netherlands (5), Norway (5) and Sweden (4). It didn't chart on the UK Singles Chart in the United Kingdom, but reached number 20 on the Eurochart Hot 100. Additionally, "Slave to the Music" was a top 20 hit in Switzerland (14) and a top 30 hit in Flemish Belgium (23). Outside Europe, the single peaked at number two in Australia and Zimbabwe. Twenty 4 Seven is a Dutch Eurodance group formed in 1989 by Dutch producer Ruud van Rijen. The project is best known in Europe for the hit singles " I Can't Stand It", "Are You Dreaming?", " Slave to the Music", " Is It Love" and " Take Me Away." History 1989-1990: Original lineup Twenty 4 Seven was formed in 1989 by Dutch producer Ruud van Rijen in Valkenswaard,The Netherlands. In the beginning stages, the project consisted of Dutch singer Nancy "Nance" Coolen and Dutch rapper Ricardo Overman (MC Fixxit). The single " I Can't Stand It" was released early in 1989 featuring vocals from Coolen and Overman. After having internal disputes with van Rijen, Overman left the team shortly after the release of the debut single. The Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry ( pl, Związek Producentów Audio-Video, ZPAV) is the trade organization that represents the interests of the music industry in Poland, and the Polish chapter of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Founded in 1991, it is authorized by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to act as a copyright collective in the field of phonogram and videogram producers' rights. The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (English: Federal Music Industry Association), or simply BVMI, represents the music industry in Germany. The association represents the interests of nearly 280 labels and music industry related enterprises, which comprise 90% of the music industry. Bundesverband Musikindustrie is a member of International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which is based in London, England. IFPI consists of music associations of 70 countries. The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. GfK Entertainment is the provider of weekly Top 100 single and album charts, as well as various other chart formats for genres like compilations, jazz, classical music, schlager, hip hop, dance, comedy, and music videos.
