Slavcho Atanasov
Slavcho Atanasov ( bg, Славчо Атанасов; born 14 February 1968 in Karlovo) is a Bulgarian politician, member of IMRO-BNM and mayor of Plovdiv (2007–2011). In 2003 he was elected a mayor of Plovdiv's largest district Trakiya. Karlovo
Karlovo ( bg, Карлово ) is a historically important town in central Bulgaria located in a fertile valley along the river Stryama at the southern foot of the Balkan Mountains. It is administratively part of Plovdiv Province and has a population of about 30,340 (), the mayor being Dr. Emil Kabaivanov. Karlovo is famous for the worldwide-known rose oil, which is grown there and used in producing perfume. In addition to this, Karlovo is the birthplace of Vasil Levski, the most distinguished Bulgarian to start preparing the national liberation from the Ottoman rule in the late 19th century. The IMRO – Bulgarian National Movement (IMRO–BNM; bg, ВМРО – Българско Национално Движение, translit=VMRO – Balgarsko Natsionalno Dvizhenie, VMRO–BND) is a national conservative political party in Bulgaria led by Krasimir Karakachanov. Plovdiv
Plovdiv ( bg, Пловдив, ), is the second-largest city in Bulgaria, standing on the banks of the Maritsa river in the historical region of Thrace. Trakiya (district)
Trakiya (transliterated from bg, Тракия, and from which the English-language name ''Thrace'' is translated) is the largest neighbourhood of Plovdiv as well as one of the six districts of the city located in its south-eastern parts. It has 61,920 inhabitants. Its construction began in 1973, in 1976 it was inaugurated as a neighbourhoods and in 1983 it became a district. Trakiya is one of the largest area with blocks of flats in Bulgaria. Structure The district has an area of 5,660 km² of which 0,193 km² are green spaces and 0,45 km² are included in the forest-park Lauta. Trakiya has a well-developed infrastructure.
